Teach Me Tuesday: Getting the Most Out of Printables!

It's "Teach Me Tuesday" and, by popular request, we are focusing on the several printable options available with Cocoa Daisy. The printables are a great way to get a taste of each month's collection, particularly the beautiful illustrations. If you are a subscriber, you also receive a free subscriber download. With so many printable options you may be wondering, how can I use printable to support my planning and journaling? Our Creative Team is here to answer that very question! Pauline uses the printables inside her planner.
"I absolutely love Cocoa Daisy Printables! I like to use them when I want some larger decorations, as in my shipping page I'll show you today, or in my planner daily pages. Of course, they coordinate with the rest of the Winter Twilight Collection, so you can choose them together. Here, as I had the beautiful dashboard on the right, I decided to coordinate with birds and animals.
I do very simple printing with my printables. I print them on everyday paper (80g), with our domestic inkjet printer (Canon MG3650S). Then I cut them leaving some white around. I do that with my very old (almost 20 years !) Fiskars scissors. It's really far from perfect, but once it's glued it does the job.
My page is on the other side of a dashboard, so it's 100% blank. As you can see, I used the bird that was from the dotted personal size page from the Winter Twilight Printables. Then, I added the boxes that were in the Winter Twilight Planner Sticker Kit and other printables around. I love using printables for their big size, but also because when I want to stamp it gets dry quicker and better than with stickers. I use the printables when I plan to add a lot of stamping, which is what I did on this page.
Jil embellishes her journal pages using the printables.
"This year, I've been keeping a journal in the Hobonichi Cousin, and Cocoa Daisy stickers, stamps, and printables help me make it a scrapbook journal! I'm sharing here and in my video below, you can see that I've prepared the page with a little watercolor in deep blue and burnt sienna.
Typically, I print the Cocoa Daisy Printables on clear sticker paper, fussy cut the images, and then position them around the edges of the pages, leaving room for writing in the center. In this example, besides using the tree, bunny, fox, and bird images, I also printed and cut out part of a page designed to go in a planner.
I've combined these images with strips of patterned paper from the Winter Twilight Collection, some stamping from the Winter Twilight Memory Keeping Stamp Sets, and a few sequins from the Winter Twilight Classified: Memory Keeping Kitas a finishing touch.
The sticker kits and washi tapes are also fun to combine with the printables in a scrapbook journal. I share a little more about my process in the video below."
