Traci Reed: Plant Love[embed]https://youtu.be/BCBbN5D9zSk[/embed] Hey Hey Hey! Traci Reed here today with a layout about my love of plants as told through a little bit different of a story. I don’t know about you, but plants are my love language and an ever-growing hobby of mine. But SHOPPING for plants is how I like to de-stress. So when one of the prompts for the Lillian's Garden Collection was “Green Thumb,” I had a perfect story to tell! I have been struggling a bit with some anxiety lately and my husband is doing his level best to help, so one day he told me to get dressed because we were going plant shopping. Be still my heart! While we were there, I was checking out some plants and said “I really don’t NEED any more plants,” to which he replied, “Are we here because you NEED new plants or because they make you happy?” Bless his heart. When approaching this story, I knew I wanted his quote to be the title. Still, it’s a pretty long one, so I mix and matched letter stickers from the Lillian's Garden Planner Sticker kit as well as the Lillian's Garden Modern Memory Keeping Kit with some handwritten words on labels to shorten it up. I stamped the last word in an older stamp set from Cocoa Daisy and it took up almost the whole page! The last thing I did was add some fun stitching rub-ons over the top of my photo from the Lillian's Garden Traveler’s Notebook Memory Keeping Kit and wrapped the whole left edge of the page with a ribbon from the Lillian's Garden Classified: Memory Keeping Kit. On the right-hand side, I chose to pair a photo of the flowers we brought home with a journal card from the Lillian's Garden Modern Memory Keeping Kit. Since this layout was about my mental health, I thought the quote was appropriate. I wanted to hide my journaling since it would be a little more private, so I popped both the photo and journaling card onto card stock hinges so that they would flip up to reveal my journaling. When the card/photos are flipped up, I had a space for my journaling, but I also had the back side of the flaps to contend with so I used some of the snarky phrases from the Lillian's Garden Traveler’s Notebook Memory Keeping Kit paired with some of the floral die cuts from the Lillian's Garden Classified: Memory Keeping Kit to decorate them. I also added more stitching rub-ons and my layout was done! It was pretty simple but looks deceptively more complex because I chose such a busy background (also from the Lillian's Garden Classified: Memory Keeping Kit) to scrap with!
