Two Ways to PLAY in Your Planners

Hello, friends!

We love putting the FUN in functional planning! Check out these two fun ways to play in your planners.

Elizabeth Jorgenson – Two Ways to PLAY in Your Planners

Hello friends! Elizabeth here from @thejoyfulsojourn on Instagram, YouTube, and TiKTok, to share with you two examples of how to incorporate creative play in your functional planners!

Example One: Dress up your dividers with sticker collage!

If you have a more neutral monthly divider, here is your prime opportunity to have fun! Take all your favorite stickers from the Mediterranean Muse Stationery Kit and Mediterranean Muse Bible Journaling Sticker Kit if desired, as I did) and layer them from the bottom left corner, flowing to the upper right corner.

Several of the kits come with alpha stickers! Use them to spell out the month in the lower right corner. I went with paper alphas, which are available in the Mediterranean Muse Bible Journaling Sticker Kit. If clear alphas are more up your alley, you can find those in the journaling kit!

If you have the calendar stamp from April, add that to the open space at the top so you can have a quick view of the upcoming month! If you don’t have a month stamp, doodle one or add additional stickers! And just for fun, I added broken-up dashed lines along the perimeter of the sticker collage for a little extra whimsy!

Example Two: Play in the Margins

This is one of my favorite weekly overview pages in a long time – there’s something so happy about the lemons and scooter! Don’t be afraid layer clear stickers and washi to create a dynamic notes page in your planner. If you stick to creating play in the margins, you still have functional space for planning and tracking. In this example, I not only had ample space for brain-dumping and to do listing for the week, but I had room for tracking my steps and sleep, too!

Decorative dating is the most functional way you can get creative in your weekly spreads. Here I layered washi and date stickers from the Mediterranean Muse Stationery Kit, and added date stamps from the Minimalist Collection.

If journaling and scrapbooking aren’t your thing, I hope you can find ways to be creative in your functional spaces! You don’t have to sacrifice function for form, and if you have to be in your planner anyway, you might as well make it a joy!
