TN Tuesday Tips and Tricks

TN Tuesday Tips and Tricks
Hello, friends! We have another TN (Traveler's Notebook) Tuesday post featuring both the Tranquility Collection and the My Escape Collection. Around these parts, we call our traveler's notebook the Simple Dori. The inside of the notebook features designs from its coordinating collection, along with several blank pages for full creative control. There are so many ways to document in your Simple Dori Travelers Notebook. You can add the highlights of a whole month in one insert or spread them out over several notebooks. You can create a theme around your Simple Dori inspired by the kits each month. Or it can be a place of creative play, to experiment with memory-keeping styles with extra photos, quotes, and ephemera. There are no rules, just a whole bunch of crafty fun! And don't forget that the Traveler's Notebook Memory Keeping Kit provides you with a few sketches from Christine to kickstart your creativity.  Evy shares a spread with a go-to photo size and a new decorating style. "My love for traveler's notebooks is known to everyone. Before the Simple Dori Travelers Notebook, I used planner inserts for my projects! Obviously, the style changes over time and so does the way of scraping. This month, I have been using full-page photos a lot. I like to put some small embellishments from the Tranquility Travelers Notebook Memory Keeping Kit on the photo or the title like in this case. This spread is unique because it is the first time that I embellished an already decorated page from the Tranquility Simple Dori! I couldn't resist inserting stamps, stickers from the caption, and the date in a mix that I really like. For the dotted border, I used a simple black gel pen. I like to have fun when I do memory-keeping in TN, I often do it in complete relaxation in front of the TV." The size of the Simple Dori makes it easy to work on from just about anywhere! Evy's spread is full if lovely little details. And we love how you mixed up her alphas in her title. There are several repeating alpha styles that can be mixed and matched each month. When you run out of a certain letter, grab one of your other alpha sheets and your problem is solved. The Simple Dori has been a great creative outlet for Jennie.
"I've been doing a lot of documenting in my Simple Dori Travelers Notebook so far in 2021 and I've really been enjoying it. However, I'm always looking for ways to keep it fun and fresh.
I've been inspired lately by card makers and how they use inks on projects other than stamping. So, after I created one side of the traveler's notebook layout, I took my Scattered Straw Distress Oxide ink and blended a circle shape on the other page.
After I completed that, I took the puffy arrows included in the My Escape Classified: Memory Keeping Kit and mimicked the circle shape with those puffy stickers. I wanted the focus to be on that circle, so I left the rest of the page blank.
As of right now, I love the way the page turned out, but that doesn't mean I might play with it again later to add a title or a tiny bit of journaling!" We love that Jennie was inspired to use a card-making technique in her My Escape Simple Dori Travelers Notebook. The circle of embellishments is fantastic, along with her upside-down tag and sliver of pattern paper to mat her photos.
We hope you are inspired to pull out your Simple Dori and get creative! Share your pages with us by tagging @cocoa_daisy on social media or posting to the Cocoa Daisy Fan Page.
