May Memory Keeping Guest Designer | Shu-Wen Tham
Shu-Wen has taken the Tranquility memory keeping kits and created several beautiful memory keeping projects! Project 1: Celebrate! TN Memory Keeping Spread I was so excited to be invited as Cocoa Daisy's Memory Keeping Guest Designer for May 2021 that I made a spread in my Simple Dori to celebrate the occasion! I wanted to include the photo, Q&A, and biography that I had submitted for my design team introduction post, so I made an interactive page to hold all my journaling. For the left side of the spread, I used some pocket cards from the Modern Memory Keeping Kit and the free printables in the Cocoa Daisy shop to create a flip out to hold my Q&A. For the right side of the spread, I used a TN card from the TN Memory Keeping Kit to create another flip out to hold my biography. I decided to use the circle label adhesive die cuts in the Classified Memory Keeping Kit in a creative way: by cutting them in half and using them as tabs for my interactive elements! Finally, I finished off the spread with titles made from alpha stickers in the TN Memory Keeping Kit and the Memory Keeping Sticker Kit.
Fun Tip: Be creative when using your alpha stickers to spell out the words / phrases you want! In this spread, I used a lower-case letter "L" diagonally as the slash in "Q/A" and used the inside pieces of the letters "O" and "B" to create my own exclamation mark! Project 2: Grow! Interactive Plant Memory Keeping Page Because I'm terrible with plants and have been known to kill most of mine in the past, I decided to create this page with tags for each of my plants, complete with their preferred lighting, soil, and watering conditions! Hopefully these tags will help me keep my plants alive for longer this time! I decided to use the gorgeous vellum sheet from the Planner Classified Kit to form a pocket on my page. Then, I used some kraft tags from a previous month's Cocoa Daisy kit to hold a photo of each of my plants, decorating the fronts of them with some rub-ons and washi tape, and the backs of them with the plant stamps from the Traveler's Notebook Memory Keeping Kit! I finished off the tops of the tags with some twine from my stash and decorated my vellum pocket with the green ribbon and an adhesive die cut label from the Classified Memory Keeping Kit, the acrylic "Grow" word from the Modern Memory Keeping Kit, and a few glitter enamel dots for some sparkle and shine.
Fun Tip: Be sure to try using the rub-ons on some patterned paper or colored cardstock like I did here for a cool effect that you can't achieve with stickers!

Project 3: Thursday Three TN Memory Keeping Spread
I created this simple spread documenting a recent Thursday 3 photo in my Simple Dori using a journaling card and some puffy alphabet stickers from the Modern Memory Keeping Kit, a TN pocket card from the Traveler's Notebook Memory Keeping Kit, and a sticker from the Memory Keeping Sticker Kit! First, I typed up some journaling on vellum to fit into each of the three speech bubbles from the journaling card. I fussy-cut out each of the speech bubbles and placed them on my large photo. Then, I cut the TN pocket card down a bit so that the background patterned paper in my Simple Dori creates a nice border around the card. And finally, I added some spots for my title and date stamp by printing out the phone wallpaper that was uploaded into the Cocoa Daisy Fans Facebook Group!
Fun Tip: Don't be afraid of cutting up your journaling cards to make them work for you! For my full process video, visit: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OQyFQCx1zU8
Project 4: "Love Grows Here" Hexagon Memory Explosion Box
I decided to do a twist on the popular explosion box to create this keepsake documenting some fun and important memories that my boyfriend and I have experienced so far! First, I designed some nesting hexagon templates and constructed a hexagon explosion box from the white cardstock that I've been hoarding from previous Cocoa Daisy Modern Memory Keeping Kits. Then, I took my time decorating each of the 6 panels in each of the 3 nesting hexagon layers with treasured memories that I have shared with my boyfriend. Lastly, I had fun decorating the tops of each hexagon lid with alphabet stickers, the gold-edged vellum leaves, chipboard stickers, rub-ons, and glitter enamel dots, all from the Cocoa Daisy Memory Keeping Kits!
Fun Tip: Use a combination of different embellishments to create wonderful textures for your title pages (or in my case, for the lids of my hexagon boxes!)
