Tips and Tricks for Stamps and Stencils
Hello, friends! We were spoiled with the Gather Collection to have so many wonderful inky tools including the Gratitude Stamp Set, available to new subscribers, the Gather Memory Keeping Stamp Sets, and even a stencil in the Gather Classified: Memory Keeping Kit! Our Creative Team got to work using these awesome inky items in their memory-keeping spreads.  Christine shares some awesome tips for using the Gather Memory Keeping Stamp Sets. "When I saw the stencil in the Gather Collection, I just KNEW I had to use it to "watercolor" with ink pads! I pulled out some coordinating inks and got to work! When it was all dry, I used the leaves from the Gratitude Stamp Set + navy ink to stamp over the watercolor leaves for a beautiful layered mixed-media effect. I then used these two pages as the background for my spread, keeping my embellishments simple so as not to distract! If you want to see my process, check out this video on my Instagram!" Carol also combined the stamps and stencil for a super fun holiday paper-crafting project. "When I opened the Gather Classified: Memory Keeping Kit, I immediately thought of using gesso with the oak leaf stencil. I combined the stamps from the Gather Traveler's Notebook Memory Keeping Kit, some acorns, and watercolor splatters to create a fun project I plan to use for a tablescape. I’m sharing all the details in this process video to walk you through the “how-to” in case you’d like to create some of your own!"
Evy made a stunning mood board with her inked elements.
"And finally, I inaugurate my Gather SimpleDori with this project. This month I decided to create a kind of reverse cover on the center page! It will be the "mood board" of the other layouts that I am going to create.
I thought of an impact page with a full-page photo paired with wood. I chose the photo of this window that I photograph every year in the various seasons (it is from a house on my street).
On top of the photo, I simply stamped tiny writing using the Stazon pad with the Gratitude Stamp Set.
For the right page, I used the stencil from the Gather Classified: Memory Keeping Kit to capture the colors of the photo. I blended 3 distress oxides (crackling campfire, peeled paint, fossilized amber) starting from the edge to create a frame.
In the center of the page, however, the title is simply stamped and mixed with the alpha stickers of theUmber & Gold Collection. Don't you think they are perfect together?"
