This is (Puppy) Love

Hello, friends!

Love is all around us, sometimes right at our feet! The Paperie Collection was meant for documenting all the ways love shows up in our life.

And they called it puppy loooooove! My puppy loves me an overzealous amount and I just had to scrapbook this darling photo of her passed out while I lay down on the couch, her face squished between my knees so she could keep an eye on me while she sleeps 😂

I REALLY wanted to make a fun impact with the tags included in the Paperie Collection, so I went all in, using a huge amount of them in all sizes to create a collage on my page.

However, I knew that if I ONLY used tags, the layout would look a little flat and boring, so I made sure to add curves (via the circle and half circle embellishments) hearts, and die cuts that filled in blank spaces and also created some overlap between all the pieces.

To add even more texture, I used the Paperie Memory-Keeping Stamps and stamped "xoxo" and "loved" in blank spaces and added the watercolor splotch rub-ons to the white space, bringing the background to the foreground. The sticker sheet of multicolored journaling spots also helped to fill up space with a new shape

I wanted to incorporate the journal card from the Paperie Modern Memory Keeping Kit that had the water-coloring on it and said "hello" but I knew a 3x4 would take up a lot of space on my page, so I cut it into a tag shape and overlapped my photo with it so that it wouldn't blend into the background.

The last thing I did was add stamped stitching (from an older Cocoa Daisy stamp set) in messy straight lines to emphasize corners and lead the eye around the spread.
