Stamping Saturday with Koi Pond Collection

Stamping Saturday with Koi Pond Collection
Hello, Friends! Who is ready for another Stamping Saturday? We certainly are! There were some great new stamp sets for June and we are excited to share some stamping ideas with you. Christine walks through all the new stamp sets from the Koi Pond Collection, including a few new a la carte options. I love to use stamping in my projects, and I don't consider myself a stamping pro...I just like to have fun with them. The stamp set in the ¬†Koi Pond Modern Memory Keeping Kit inspired me to do some background stamping on my Traveler's Notebook layout. I used the small scallop design to create an organic stamped pattern behind my photo area. I love the slight hint of color this adds to my white background and the look of the finished pattern. And, I thought it would be fun to stamp a few phrases on some of the stickers from the Koi Pond Memory Keeping Sticker Kit. This is a fun way to create unique embellishments for your project. If you would like to see how my layout came together, make sure you check out my Process Video. When I first got into creative planning I was absolutely horrified at just the mention of stamping in my planner, but after several YouTube videos by our very own Jennie McGarvey, I was finally convinced to give it a go. Fast forward several years to now and I can‚Äôt imagine my planning system without using stamps. Cocoa Daisy makes such a wide range of both functional and cute creative clear stamps to add to your planners. I like to use stamps both functionally and for creative elements. Using the new stamp set that was released with the Memory Planning Step-by-Step Class, I used the icons to add different prompts for items throughout the week such as the camera to list the content that I plan to share that day or my list at the bottom left-hand side with the knife and fork and little house, etc. Those are different lists for my to-dos throughout the week. For my creative elements, I really enjoy layering different stamps. I always prefer to start with lighter shades first and then build up to darker shades for my top layers when creating a cute little cluster like I‚Äôve done here on Monday to document my day off for Memorial Day. If you‚Äôre just getting started I recommend getting one black ink and one light color to start off with your Cocoa Daisy stamps. And just like anything, it takes practice, especially to get comfortable with it. I hope you‚Äôre able to walk away with some new inspiration today!     Inspired by Christine‚Äôs stamping ideas, I created a mini journal and prepped my pages with stamps. I loved the little notepad holder that we received with the Koi Pond Planner Add-On Kit and wanted to make a mini journal to fit inside. To make the mini journal, I folded several sheets of the Minimalist Collection A5 Double Sided Graph Paper¬†and trimmed the sheets to 3.5 X 5 inches. I created a cover from paper from the Koi Pond Memory Keeping Classified Kit and decorated it with paper and a die cut.¬† Here is where all the fun stamping happened! I stamped my cover page with a layered stamping look thanks to the Koi Pond Memory Keeping Stamps and the Journaling Box Base Stamp Set.¬† For all the inside pages, I stamped the right page with the same box stamp from the Journaling Box Base Stamp Set. and grid from the Koi Pond Memory Keeping Stamps.¬†I placed the journal block on the right side so that there would also be a flat surface to write on, even if I add dimensional embellishments to the left page. To make each journal block unique, I varied the placements of the stamped sentiments and the ink colors. I then trimmed pages from the Koi Pond Simple Dori¬†to use for the base of my decorative page that will coordinate with the journaling. Having all these elements ready to go will allow for quick and easy creative journaling for the month of June!¬†Check out my process video to see this mini journal come together!
