Scrapbooking with the Moss & Mirth Collection
Hello, friends!

The Moss & Mirth Collection, with its earthy greens, rustic plaids, and gorgeous mushroom motifs, was the perfect way to capture that moment.

Traci Reed: Scrapbooking with the Moss & Mirth Collection

There’s something magical about those first signs of fall — when the air shifts, the light softens, and even the ground seems to change color. This layout came together after spotting mushrooms popping up in the yard and realizing that, even though it was still August, fall was already peeking through. I built this page around two photos — one close-up of a mushroom and another wider shot with the late summer sun hitting the leaves just right.

To balance them, I layered patterned papers from the Moss & Mirth 12x12 Papers, mixing plaids, ferns, and leafy textures. The variety in this kit makes layering effortless — everything coordinates while still giving enough contrast to make each piece pop.

The mushroom ephemera and vintage-style labels are some of my favorite parts of the Moss & Mirth Collection, and they really shine here. I clustered them around my photos to tie the theme together and added in fussy-cut mushrooms from the patterned paper for extra depth. The “Orange Cap” label and the “Not Foraged” piece were especially fun because they gave the page that woodland field-notes feel, almost like a nature journal.

I kept the journaling simple, just a few lines about how early fall arrived this year after a long stretch of miserable heat. Scrapbooking little observations like this reminds me that not every page has to be about a big event — sometimes the small seasonal shifts are just as worth capturing.

What I love most about this layout is how it feels rooted in nature. Between the mushroom illustrations, leafy accents, and soft blended background, it perfectly mirrors the earthy calm that comes with the first breath of fall. The Moss & Mirth Collection makes it easy to embrace those everyday natural details and turn them into something beautiful on the page.
