Saturday Sketches to Inspire Your Memory Keeping
Hello, friends! We are jumping on the inspiration train featuring Christine's sketch ideas provided in the Traveler's Notebook Memory Keeping Kit and the Modern Memory Keeping Kit each month. Our Creative Team was inspired by Christine's designs and we hope their layouts inspire you! Aimee's was Christine's layout and the exclusive items in the My Escape Collection. Hi, Daisies! Once I received the My Escape Collection¬†I knew I wanted to replicate this beautiful layout from Christine. I absolutely adore the vellum map paper included in the My Escape Travelers Notebook Memory Keeping Kit and I knew it must be used. While Christine's TN layout is on rings I opted to leave mine inside the My Escape Simple Dori Travelers Notebook as I want to create a travel album for a trip I took with my family in 2016. To still be able to have the vellum map as an interactive/overlay element I decided to use the washi tape from the Travelers Notebook Memory Keeping Kit to tape it to the inside crease of my Simple Dori ‚Äî it flips beautifully! I used rub ons to frame out my two photos. For the right side of my layout, I chose the same graphic Christine did but opted to add some of the puffy arrow stickers for extra interest and to tie in that beautiful orangey-red color from the left. Adding a red label for the date and a geotag to the top finishes off this Simple Dori spread and I absolutely love having some photos from this trip documented!"¬†Check out Aimee's process video to see this spread come together. https://youtu.be/xLWbktZgeXs   Make sure to hold on to previous instruction sheets, as Traci has to kickstart her creativity for this spread. For this Sketch Saturday, I decided to use the sketch from Poppy Field Traveler's Notebook Instruction Sheet to scrap these photos in my 6x8 vacation mini album of my sister and me running. I felt like the two photo setup was perfect for this story. Since I'm using the My Escape Collection for a 6x8 album and not using the Simple Dori, I was able to dismantle it and use the more varied papers to create a nice line of patterned paper strips down the left edge, keeping them in rainbow order, as I'm prone to do! I also went with the map paper background under the paper strips because I liked the contrast between the busy left side and the white-backed right side. Of course, I couldn't just stick to a simple sketch, so I also added in a lot of layers under my photos with rub-ons, tags, stickers, enamel dots, and chipboard from the My Escape Travelers Notebook Memory Keeping Kit. Finally, I backed one of the quote stickers from the My Escape Memory Keeping Sticker Kit for the "quote card" portion of the sketch.
