June Memory Keeping Guest Designer Recap | Roda Langan

June Memory Keeping Guest Designer Recap | Roda Langan
We are excited to have Roda Langan from @RodaScraps as our memory keeping guest designer for the month of June using the fun¬†My Escape kits. See all the details from Roda and the four projects she created using the kits below! Project 1: Father's Day Card I made this fun card for the upcoming Father's Day! I used 3 kits here the My Escape Modern Memory Keeping Kit, the Traveler's Notebook Memory Keeping Kit and the MK sticker kit. For the base of the card. I used one of the patterned paper from TN kit. I used one of the 3x4 cards from MK Kit to showcase the card. Using a circle die, I cut the DAD sentiment as well as the black stripes and placed them in colored base cardstock. The best thing of MMK kit and TN kit is that each of them has an exclusive clear stamp included. I stamped the word DAD in heavy cardstock using Alpha Outline stamp set and colored them in with different colors. I also stamped the arrows in cardstock using Adventure Stamp set from TN MK in different colors. Then fussy cut them. I want to add some darker color in my card, so I decided to use one of the washi strip from MK sticker kit. To top it off, I used the rub-on car sticker and enamel dots from MMK kit. Just a note. Before I place everything in my card, I adhered all the elements into cardstocks then fussy cut them. This way it's easy for me to move and arranged them accordingly.     Project 2: Canada
My family and I love to travel it may be domestic or international.  Before COVID, me and my kids went to Canada to visit my sister. When My Escape Kit released, I know what I will use them for. The TN MK kit is perfect to preserve memory with a nice touch! I also bought the Happy Planner inserts not for planning spread but to use the inserts for embellishment.
For my left side spread. I tear the corner of the Happy Planner insert and use them as washi. I also fussy cut the camera from the insert. I placed a tear HP insert peace behind the photo. And layered the die-cuts on top of the photo. The photo was taken at the airport waiting for boarding and so the rub-on sticker. What a perfect match! For the bottom. I stamped the CANADA using Alpha  Outline Stamp in cardstock and colored them in with markers. Again, I tear some of the HP insert and top it off with the passport washi tape.. For the right side spread: I cut 2 strips using patterned paper from TN kit. I rubbed the Date, Place, Location stickers into cardstock, basically I turned them into die cuts. I love how the MMK and TN kit goes well together. I wanted to make a pocket for journaling. To make a pocket I use one of the 3x4 card from MMK and I also used the packaging backing card (I never throw them) I use them all the time. I also utilize the left over HP insert from my last spread. I paste on top of the backing card. I also added a wood let's go element from My Escape classified. The mini tag is from MMK kit. I stapled basic color cardstock and the passport stamp washi (paste in cardstock).
Project 3: Lego Land Again, I am using the HP insert just to decorate my corners. I did a lot of stamping in this spread using both Alpha Outline from MMK and Adventure Stamp Set from TN Kit. I have some left over paper that was cut in my previous projects. Thought it would be the perfect box for our itineraries. Most of the time I adhere the stickers into cardstock then fussy cut them. I also used some rub-on stickers to decorate the corner of my box. For the bottom part, I fussy cut the corner of HP insert. I love the design, I will be using them a lot! I stamped the Alpha Outline in cardstock and colored them in, then fussy cut . I also used washi strip and some puffy stickers to accent the Stamp. For the right side spread. We don't have the picture yet! So blank cardstock will do for the base. I stamped LEGO LAND word from Alpha Outline stamp set in cardstock and colored them in with markers. As you can see, I used stickers from MK sticker kit and place them in cardstock then fussy cut. I cut off the JUNE since I want to replace it with SUMMER die cut from TN Kit. I then paste them in colored base cardstock to pop the design even more. The washi strip and road trip sticker are also placed in cardstock. Then I ended the spread with some puffy arrow and dots stickers.
Project 4: Album
As soon as My Escape Kit arrived, first project that came up in my mind is to make an album. So I did.
One of the main reason I bought HP inserts is the dashboard. I wanted to use it for my cover and perfect bonus one of the page is also great for the back cover!
I love this kit so much, that I also want to use it as a travel document organizer. The album itself is removable. I bought extra papers for my documents/passport holder for next time's project.
For the left side flap. I made a band using the Bookmark from Planner Add-On and embellished it with 3x4 journaling card. The TN fits perfectly in it.
I used all the patterned paper from Classified: Memory Keeping Edition. I also used most of the 3x4 journaling cards from Modern Memory Keeping.
I have always been a fan of inserts and pockets. Since I only have a limited page, It would be wiser if I make pockets this way I can tuck in more photos.
To avoid wear and tear, I reinforced the edges of the album with 2 inches wide clear tape. I also use the same tape for binding. I finished off each page with die cuts and stickers.
