Put it In a Pocket with Lillian's Garden!
Hello, friends! If you need a place for journaling, memorabilia, or a fun interactive element, why not put it in a pocket? Pockets are perfect for adding the little extras.

Marsha Farris: Put it in a Pocket!

This month's Lillian's Garden Traveler’s Notebook Memory Keeping Kit includes a fun adhesive pocket, and I was excited to use it on a layout. My family plants a vegetable garden every year, and I thought the pocket would be perfect for holding the tags from our vegetable plants.

To begin, I selected a spread in the Lillian's Garden Simple Dori from the Lillian's Garden Traveler’s Notebook Memory Keeping Kit to use as the base for my project. I used a circle punch from my stash to cut a half circle along the top of the adhesive pocket. Because the pocket is transparent, I trimmed a piece of white cardstock and added it inside the pocket. This allowed the sentiment on the front to be seen even after adding the garden tags.

For the other side of the layout, I added my main photo and created a flip element to hold an additional picture. The hinge was made with thin white paper, allowing the flip to open downward. Then, I stapled an acrylic circle die cut from the Lillian's Garden Modern Memory Keeping Kit to a patterned paper at the top of the page. This element holds the flip in place and allows it to open easily.

To embellish the inside of the flip, I added some stamping with the Lillian's Garden Traveler’s Notebook Memory Keeping Kit stamp and black ink. I also included a rub-on from the Lillian's Garden Modern Memory Keeping Kit and a sticker from the Lillian's Garden Memory Keeping Sticker Kit. Because these embellishments are thin, they don't add any bulk to the flip-out.

Below the photo, I created the title with blue puffy alpha stickers. I then added some of the fun puffy stickers from the Lillian's Garden Traveler’s Notebook Memory Keeping Kit and a scalloped circle die cut to embellish the page. To complete the layout, I included my journaling on clear sticker paper and stamped the date with the Rotary Date Stamp. I enjoyed making this Simple Dori spread using the Lillian's Garden Collection. Make sure to check out my process video on Instagram! Happy creating!
