Taina Cortes: Pocket Pages with From the Garden Kits
Hello, my crafty friends. It's Tai and I have two pocket page layouts to share with you. I am using the journaling cards from the From the Garden Modern Memory Keeping Kit. Pocket page layouts have become one of my favorite ways to document longer stories in my 6x8 family album. It is easy to print 4x6 photos and 3x4 photos to go along with the journal cards in the kit.
For my first layout, I am pairing a large family photo from Easter Sunday, measuring 7 inches x 8.25 inches. This size fits outside a page protector. I paired it with 2 4x6 cards from the kit. The top one lends itself to a journaling card. I type my journaling on my computer and print it on clear matte sticker paper so that the pattern of the card can still be seen.
For the second card, it had stripes in all the green tones. It looks like the color palette card. I wanted to jazz this card up. I added a wood veneer piece and a few of the rub-ons all towards one corner. It elevated the card, wouldn’t you agree?
My second layout is still showing more photos from Easter. I paired 3 3x4 cards found in the From the Garden Modern Memory Keeping Kit with one 3x4 photo for the left side. It was a great photo of my daughter and my mom sitting pretty. I selected a sentiment card, a journal card, and a decorative card I was able to add another wood veneer leaf for added details.
For the opposite side, I paired two more photos sized to 3x4 with a 4x6 card. The 4x6 card has lovely floral illustrations along the bottom. The blue alphas matched perfectly to add the title ‘Happy Easter’ on it. I embellished the photos with a few die cuts and chipboard pieces found in the From the Garden Modern Memory Keeping Kit as well.
Both layouts work well together and I was able to use a bunch of cards from my kit. My journaling included a lot of details about the day. This collection has been one of my favorites because if you know me, I love florals. I’ve been a flower child all my life, so this collection sang to me.
