Linda Jordan: Daily Journaling with From the Garden Kits

The From the Garden Collection was perfect for bringing fresh colors and images of spring into my daily journal spreads. I loved using this collection in my Hobonichi Cousin to create my daily journal pages and working with the collection ensured that my journal entries were cohesive across the spread.

I think my favorite piece from the From the Garden Stationery Kit was the days of the week washi tape, but it was tough to pick just one item! This washi tape was an early favorite because it's so versatile. On the left-hand spread, I selected just the word "weekend" from the washi tape to create a semi-title for my page, but on the right-hand side, I just used a strip decoratively along the bottom.

I tend to keep my daily journal open on my desk throughout the day so I can add to it as the day goes on. I didn't have a ton to say Saturday morning, so I was able to easily fill the spread by adding in a few of the clear stickers from the From the Garden Stationery Kit. These allowed me to create a narrower journaling block which was way less intimidating than a full blank spread.

The From the Garden Stationery Kit also includes a sticky note pad which is also super useful in my daily journal. I love the ability to add it to a page because it will break up the spread and give you a spot to highlight a few notes. The sticky pad in this kit was a daily checklist, perfect for listing the chores I hoped to accomplish on Sunday.

I love that a few sheets in the From the Garden Stationery Kit included washi strips, which gives you lots of options of washi tape to include on your spread. I pulled a couple of these strips to frame my pages, along the top and bottom of the pages.

Daily journaling can be intimidating, especially if you're new to the practice. But having fun with coordinating supplies makes the process so much more enjoyable and doable! It also really helps to leave your journal and supplies on your desk so you can add a little at a time as inspiration strikes. I hope this inspires you to pull out your journal!
