Tai Cortes: Mother's Day Memories

Hello crafty friends! It’s Tai and I am here to share with you a double-page spread using the scrapbooking core kit along with the Sun-Drenched Pocket Card Add-on. This collection has so many vibrant summer colors and I just love so many of them in this month’s kit. My starting point was using the turquoise quote card and that black pocket card that reads ‘It was a good day and a fun time’. From those two cards, I flipped through the rest of the kit and decided what worked best with them. I knew I needed another card with some black element to tie both sides together.

My favorite card from the Sun-drenched Pocket Card Add-on is the painted floral card, I love that you can see the texture from the brush strokes in the card. I then selected another patterned card showing off all the rich colors in the kit for the opposite side. I selected photos from this year’s Mother's Day brunch we went to with both sets of parents. We wore bright colored clothes so these photos of Miguel and his family worked perfectly with this collection.

Once cards, photos, and placement were selected, then it is time to embellish all of them. I added a stamp from the Sun-Drenched Scrapbooking Kit to the journaling card of the floral border and the hummingbirds to the quote card. I also selected a rub on to the quote card. I used the bright hot pink washi from the Sun-Drenched Scrapbooking Kit with two layers to have it pop against the black. A tiny phrase sticker and chipboard elements decorate the photos along with the enamel dots. Finally, I cut down one photo to be about 2.5x2.5 and made it seem like a Polaroid photo to what patterned striped card. It is important to me when doing projects to have a little bit of embellishment to each card, once again having your eye view each one around the layout, but also to use the lovely products. I hope you find my project inspiring for your next project.

Linda Jordan: Project Life Monthly Recap

My favorite use of the Sun-Drenched Scrapbooking Kit was to create a pocket page spread because they're so quick + versatile; plus, they look great when finished. I was super excited to use the Sun-Drenched Scrapbooking Kit to document August 2020 in my daughter's album. This year I have created a recap of each month of 2020 in her album so that at the end of the year I'll have that year documented. This spreads came together super quick + easy using the Sun-Drenched Pocket Card Add-on.

I love that the pocket cards come ready to go, so you can just slip them into pockets alongside your photos to create a designed spread. The filler card from the kit that says "And back to the normal routine we go" was the perfect simple design to slip in alongside my photos for this month. I also loved the "favorite summer moments" card that had space for me to write out a few stories to highlight the month.

The best thing about pocket cards, though, is that they are so easy to manipulate to make them work for you. I loved the "Hello August" card as a title card, but it felt a little plain for my spread. I took some of the beautiful flower stickers from the Sun-Drenched Classic Cousin Sticker Kit to add a little personalized flair! I also loved the striped pattern card, but I made it work as a personalized filler card by adding one of the chipboard pieces from the Sun-Drenched Scrapbooking Kit. I hope these ideas help inspire you to use your pocket cards!
