12x12 Scrapbooking with Sun-Drenched Collection

Hello, friends!

We love the traditional 12x12 layouts and with the papers from this collection, we know you will, too!

Traci Reed: Fabulous Florals and Folded Corners

If you know me, you know I LOVE patterned paper. I rarely use solid card stock and love challenging myself to use the wildest papers in the collections as the base for my layout. Consider this challenge accepted with this gorgeous red and orange floral paper from the Sun-Drenched 12x12 Paper Add-On!

I knew I wanted to maximize this paper as much as possible, so rather than layering papers over the top, I chose instead to fold the corner of the layout to reveal the pink and orange stripe on the reverse, then I backed the corner with the black and white grid paper to add a bit of a graphic vibe to the page that would contrast nicely with the floral.

Then I worked magic with the rest of the page, angling my photo cluster at the same angle as the folded corner and using a few more bold accents like the big chipboard ampersand from the Sun-Drenched Scrapbooking Kit, the thin black washi tape from the Sun-Drenched Creative Kit, and the black sticker alpha from the Sun-drenched Memory Keeping Sticker Kit to add more of that graphic feel!

Tai Cortes: 12x12 Grid Design

Hello crafty friends! It’s Tai and I am here to share a 12x12 scrapbook layout I made with the gorgeous floral papers in the Sun-Drenched 12x12 Paper Add-On. For my project, I used the Sun-Drenched Scrapbooking Kit with the Sun-Drenched 12x12 Paper Add-On and the Sun-Drenched Pocket Card Add-on The illustrations of these watercolor florals as a border all around the paper are absolutely stunning. I knew I had to use it. Luckily, we recently went to Hobby Lobby for some shopping in the fake flower aisle, so I had perfect pictures to use.

Deciding on a classic grid layout made it easy to also include some of the pocket cards. For each of my photos and cards selected, I used the corner rounder to soften their appearance on the paper of flowers. ‘This is our Go-To place’ worked perfectly as a title and I glued on a perimeter to buttons from the core kit. The buttons from the Sun-Drenched Scrapbooking Kit are an unexpected twist to the kit but I enjoyed the challenge of using them in a few layouts.

I arranged my photos to have the floral parts of it interact or blend into the 12x12 patterned paper. My daughter's favorite flowers are sunflowers, which is why most of the photos have sunflowers in them. I did my journaling on clear sticker paper and adhered it straight to the blue-toned pocket card from the Sun-Drenched Pocket Card Add-on. To give more interest, I used fun foam and popped every photo and card onto some for a bit of dimension to the layout. I finished off the layout with a little embellishment on each photo to match the entire layout. It also helps your eye travel around the page. The layout is fun and colorful and the buttons are amazing on this page. I hope you give a classic grid layout a try in your next project.
