Pattern Play with the Spice Market Collection

Pattern Play with the Spice Market Collection
Hello, friends! Go ahead and play with all the patterns from the Spice Market Collection! Here are a few designs featuring patterns from our Creative Team!

Ashley Horton: Full Pattern Background

Sometimes it can be a bit intimidating to use a full patterned paper for your background. But I loved the mixed pattern and color on this 6x8.25 paper from the Spice Market Modern Memory Keeping Kit.   I thought it would be fun to use the full pattern for my background and to keep from covering up too much of it, I cut out the center square and placed my smaller photo in the space. Then, I just added a couple of the chipboard embellishments around my photo and at the bottom of the page. I love how this pattern works with the large, full-sized photo on the left side of the page. Pairing a large photo with the pattern helps to keep things from looking too busy on my layout, and allowed me to add my title and journaling over the white space in the photo. See this design come together in this video on my Instagram page!

Veronica Milan: Punched-Out Pattern Pieces

Hello crafty friends! I am so happy to be sharing this wonderful project with you. I am loving all the bright gorgeous colors that the Spice Market Collection has to offer! Here is a pattern paper I cut down to a TN size page. I punch and placed this in my memory planner. I used up all the gorgeous pattern paper from the Spice Market Traveler's Notebook Memory Keeping Kit by creating circles and half circles for this page. I stitched them on and added rub-ons to mimic the syrup in the photo. I also used the Mandela stamps from the Spice Market Traveler's Notebook Memory Keeping Kit and inked them with matching blues. I just loved all the patterns here, they remind me of a quilt. Hope you all had a great summer I know I will miss the late mornings and yummy waffles for brunch.

Audrey Medd: Build Your Background

I am loving the patterns in Spice Market Collection; the bold colors are so gorgeous. These papers make a beautiful background for layouts, especially this 12x12 layout that I did. I started with some paper from the Spice Market Modern Memory Keeping Kit. I lined them up together to make a 12x12 sheet.
Next, I have been finding ways to incorporate the journal cards from the Spice Market Modern Memory Keeping Kit into a traditional layout. I used a 4x6 journal card that told my story and complimented my picture. I added the card and my photo to the layout. I backed the photo with some more 3x4 cards and even had one 3x4 card with a sentiment peaking out the side of my photo to tell my story and add contrast.
Then I added around the cards and photo some of the watercolor accent rub-ons. I love how they create the watercolor effect without having to dive into my mixed media supplies.
I ended this layout with some embellishments from the Spice Market Collection. I included some word phrase stickers around my photo and complimenting chipboard on the top and the bottom. I love how this layout came together.
