Hello, friends!
If you received the Spice Market Collection, then you probably noticed the beautiful watercolor accents throughout the collection. We love to look bright, bold colors in the watercolor style, especially for those who want a mixed media look, but don't want the mess!
What's better than a page full of mixed media? A page full of mixed media is already done for you! This spread features as many of the lovely watercolor rub-ons from the Spice Market Collection I could manage to fit on one page to create my own custom background.
The colors in the Spice Market Collection were perfect for these photos all lit by honky tonk lighting and layering the watercolor bits and pieces was a great way to get creative without getting messy!
Jennie McGarvey: Watercolor Rub-Ons for Memory Planning
I must say, I'm always drawn to watercolor. No matter the color palette or how it's used, it's always something that speaks to me. When I saw the rub-ons included in the Spice Market Modern Memory Keeping Kit, I couldn't wait to use them.
Now, this week in my memory planner is the week of the Fourth of July. However, I didn't want to go patriotic, I wanted to reflect on pool time, the beach, palm trees, and blue sky pics in my memory planner layout. These rub-ons were the perfect answer to that.
I knew I wanted to create 3 main clusters based on the watercolor brush strokes in the rub-ons. I used the watercolor as the background, then added a phrase from the rub-ons, and lastly a rub-on accent that went perfectly. Each cluster is so perfect thanks to the fact that the rub-ons layer upon each other so well.
What's your favorite way to add watercolor accents to your projects? Do you love the rub-ons as I do? Make sure you have the Spice Market Modern Memory Keeping Kit so you can add watercolor beauty with no water.
