"I turned to my backlog of unscripted photos to tell a travel story: the first trip my boyfriend and I took together, to St. Petersburg, Florida over spring break 2017. Besides featuring all the wonderful travel elements from the My Escape Collection, I used punches several ways.
First, I used paper from the My Escape Classified: Memory Keeping Kit and the notebook-edge border punch above the seams of the two papers I pieced together. I decided to use the edge punch on the journaling card as well. I wanted the journal card smaller to better fit my overall page design and the edge punch helped to achieve this goal. The bird over the sunshine & happiness die cut was punched from cardstock.
I punched three leafy branches from the same paper from the My Escape Classified: Memory Keeping Kit and included one in each of my embellishment clusters.
Finally, I punched confetti from the My Escape Travelers Notebook Memory Keeping Kit papers and scattered a bit of it around each of the clusters. I love all these little touches on a layout! Have fun experimenting with your kits and punches!"
Paper punches can be used for punching a variety of items, including maps as Carol demonstrates in her layout.
"Using a photo from one of my favorite trips ever, I used items from the My Escape Classified: Memory Keeping Kit to make a layout of places I haven’t yet traveled to but would love to visit one day. Obviously, having a heart for adventure means my list is long; however I kept this to a “Top Ten” approach.
The My Escape Classified: Memory Keeping Kit comes with a pack of transparent/vellum like letters that spell the word “ADVENTURE”. In a previous layout, I used the letters “READ”. For this one, I used “T-E-N” for my title.
Taking my tab punch, I scoured through vintage maps and older atlases to punch out the places I want to go *one day*.
For other design elements, I used those puffy arrow stickers from the My Escape Travelers Notebook Memory Keeping Kit I cannot get enough of, a bit of tissue paper from my cover daisy box, and as much wood veneer pieces that would fit!
I hope this helps you see just how far you can stretch your monthly kits, as well as, gives you an idea for a story to tell, even if it hasn’t happened yet."
We hope you are inspired to get out your paper punches and use them to embellish your memory-keeping spreads. Make sure to share your designs with us by tagging @cocoa_daisy on social media or posting to the Cocoa Daisy Fan Page.
