Hello, friends!
If you have been with Cocoa Daisy for while, you know that each collection is unique but also mixes and matches with past collections. So today, we are celebrating this with a Throwback Thursday: Mix and Match Edition! We love how our Creative Team embraces the current collection, while still utilizing items from previous kits. We hope this post encourages you to shop your stash, stretch your kits, and enjoy the creative challenge that a little mix and match.
Traci used a specific color to tie the last few collections together in this spread.
"Is it just me or are the Peach Ridge Collectionand Doodles & Dashes Collectionkits MADE for each other?
I wanted all the pastel goodness (plus black!) of the Doodles & Dashes Collection, but the beautiful sentiments of the Peach Ridge Collection, so I combined them both seamlessly in one spread, with a dash of those foam stickers from the Wisteria Lane Collection!
To make sure everything was really well-coordinated, I used a paper from each collection as a background, using matching yellow tones, with any slight color variations between the two kits becoming unnoticeable. Watch me put this layout together in this process video!"

When you aren't quite done with the previous kit, be like Jil and combine it with the current kit!
"As much as I love Doodles & Dashes Collection, there were elements from Peach Ridge Collection that I did not want to leave behind. Working in the Doodles and Dashes Simple Dori, I used the hexagon pieces from last month's kit, along with the stitch stamp set from the Peach Ridge Travelers Notebook Memory Keeping Kit, to tell this story about my mom, the sports fan.
September marks the start of college football games on television for her, and so I used a September sticker on top of a big 9 from my stash (to evoke a number on a jersey and to balance out the graphic on my mom's blanket in the photo).
I had to change my photo to black and white in order to work with the peachy tones of both kits, but it was so worth it to evoke the mellow vibe of fall.
My finishing touch was a little leaf stamping. I'm so glad to have this story in my fall notebook!"
Stamps, stickers, and die cuts are easy items to mix and match, as Evy shows us here.
"One (of the1000) things I love about Cocoa Daisy is the ability to use kits from different months together. In particular September and August of this year are just fabulous together and I enjoyed mixing them together in this project. I decided to combine one of the cards from the Doodles and Dashes Traveler's Notebook Memory Keeping Kit with a Doodles and Dashes Simple Dori pattern to celebrate my return to the planner world and to use the diecuts and stamp of the Peach Ridge Collection that I hadn't been able to use as I wanted.
As for the TNMK card, I only added a thick die-cut to use the page as the title of the project. As it was already decorated, I didn't want to weigh it down with other embellishments.
The right page instead contains the first photos of my September planner and I found the perfect match with these diecuts from the Peach Ridge Modern Memory Keeping Kit with the various days of the week! To give a little contrast, I added some stamps and the last clear stitch stickers from the Wisteria Lane Classified: Memory Keeping Kit. Don't you find the combination of the clear stickers with the August stamp fabulous?"
Natasha has pulled from seven collections to create this Cocoa Daisy Daisy Planner spread. Can you name which ones?
"As a paper crafter who is often driven by color, I’m always so impressed with how well the Cocoa Daisy collections mix and match throughout the years. I find the way I store my previous kit materials allows me to go back and find coordinating items that will work out with a specific layout. I keep certain items stored together such as enamel dots, alphas, and washi tape. Storing my kit materials in this way makes it really easy to pull out a variety of colors of items to find which product is the best match for the overall look I’m going for.
If you’re looking for some ways to organize, I hope this gives you some inspiration so you can stretch your kits and use all the beautiful items!"
