Memory Planning: Autumn Thicket Collection
Hello, friends!
Memory Planning is a great way to combine your love of planning and memory keeping together. It is even more fun with the Autumn Thicket Collection!
Hello Crafty Friends, Fall is in the air and we love it here. Bring on the pumpkin spice drinks, the cute fall mugs, back to school, and cozy days reading all the books! I created the Memory planner layout using bits from the Autumn Thicket Modern Memory Keeping Kit.
I used cards to overlay and a glassine envelope with cute white tags. I added a fall reinforcer sticker from the kit and a chipboard piece.
I stamped in black ink "Autumn favorites" because Pumpkin Spice Lattes are my fav! I loved using all the bits of tags, rub-ons, and alpha to this page and then topped it with a leaf paper clip!

Jennie McGarvey: No Fall, No Problem!

But I live somewhere we don't get fall weather until December and we all know what we're all focused on in December. Needless to say, there's not a lot of focus on fall vibes in my memory keeping. So, the challenge for me was to use this beautiful collection but use it in a way that didn't feel super autumnal.
I didn't use any of the elements that had tons of leaves. I layered together the tags and the large boxes from the Autumn Thicket Memory Keeping Sticker Kit.
In addition, I chose some of the colorful washi strips but stayed away from the ones that focused on leaves, forests, etc. This honestly wasn't difficult. It is wonderful to focus on these warm colors, they are beautiful and I do love the pops of blue, too!
One of my favorite design elements is to use the of alphabet stickers. They look great but also help with the journaling as well. For example, the lower left photo could be limes or several other fruits. The alpha stickers help document that they are lemons for future reference. Easy and look really cute!
Even if a kit doesn't match your region seasonally, that doesn't mean that it isn't still great for your memories. Give it a try and see how you can make it work for you.

The best thing about living in Canada is having four different seasons throughout the year. Out of those four seasons Fall is by far my favourite; I cherish the crisp fall air and the colorful leaves on the trees, Thanksgiving and pumpkin pie, warm fuzzy sweaters, and dressing up for Halloween. I fell in love with the beautiful, muted color palette in this month’s Autumn Thicket Collection.
When I create pages in my memory planner I always start with my photos first. I print out the photos I want to use, adhere them to my layout, then go back and add my journaling, stickers, and decorative elements. On this layout, I used the cardstock letter stickers from the Autumn Thicket Classified: Memory Keeping Kit to add the ‘Sept’ title. The cardstock stickers came from the Autumn Thicket Classified: Memory Keeping Kit, the Autumn Thicket Modern Memory Keeping Kit, and the Autumn Thicket Planner Add-on Kit. All of the tags came from the Autumn Thicket Modern Memory Keeping Kit. The date stickers and the fall phrase stickers came from the Autumn Thicket Memory Keeping Sticker Kit.
I created the quote tag by cutting down one of the 4x6 filler cards from the Autumn Thicket Modern Memory Keeping Kit along each side. I added one of the reinforcer stickers from the Autumn Thicket Traveler's Notebook Memory Keeping Kit and string to the top. To create the pocket, I cut a piece of vellum a little bit larger than the tag, folded the bottom and sides over, then used double-sided tape to adhere to my planner. I really liked the striped pattern on the back side of the filler card so I added the 2 pieces I cut off to the top left and bottom right sides of my layout.
I used the stamps from the Autumn Thicket Traveler's Notebook Memory Keeping Kit to stamp the ‘leaf’ and ‘Beauti-fall’ on the green tag. When I adhered the tag, I used double-sided tape along the top and bottom leaving a space in the middle to allow my journaling to pull in and out. I used one of the stickers from the Autumn Thicket Memory Keeping Sticker Kit to add the pull tab.
As a final touch, I included the acrylic ‘hello autumn’ from the Autumn Thicket Memory Keeping Sticker Kit.
