Hello friends, Our design team is sharing three flip up and fold out designs today. Our first design is a memory planner flip-out by design team member Rachel. She notes, "I have to say, I LOVE making flips in my memory planner! They are a great way to add hidden journaling, extra photos or more decoration. For this spread, I moved away from the memory planner page template. I wanted my flips to be the size of the pocket cards, which meant I needed my photo’s to be a little larger than the classic size happy planner boxes." The left page was all about my husband’s family winery and the opportunity to help bottle wine. I trimmed down one of the pocket cards and used the Alphas from the Memory Keeping Stickers to create my title. To anchor the layout, I added a scrap of the pattern paper to cover the empty boxes on Wednesday. Along the sidebar, I wanted to document all the current wines available. This will be something I will want to remember down the road, but will probably forget if I don’t write it down." "There are two ways I typically make flips in my memory planner. The first method involves backing my photo with paper that is an inch wider than the photo, creating a hinge for the flip. Next, I add the wider section of the paper to the planner page with the photo facing up. Then, I covered the planner page with pattern paper." "On the inside of the flip, I added a pocket card for my journaling. To finish the flip, I like to add a tab and in this case, I use a circle chipboard sticker and back it with some trimmed out vellum." "For this flip on the right page, I first adhered the inner picture to the trimmed down pocket card. Next, I adhered the left side of the pocket card to the planner page. To make it more secure, I added clear tape to the inside of the flip as well. For my journaling, I used another pocket card and adhered it to the planner page. Lastly, I added two chipboard circle back to back for my tab." "Have you used flips in your memory planner? If not, give it a try!" Our next design is from Odessa and she is sharing a pocket page flip with the Serengeti kits. "I love incorporating interactive elements in my albums! I was working on this Project Life layout with the Serengeti Kits and wanted to add a little journal flip in the middle." "There’s lots of ways to add a flip in but I decided to go with a classic, washi and a journaling card! I picked one that I liked the front of and also had space for some journaling on the back. This zebra print card was perfect! It has a simple pattern on the front that I added some simple embellishments to and a great spot to make a list on the back. I used my new favourite roll of washi, the leopard print from the Serengeti Planner Kit. I used a bit extra adhesive on the back since it will be outside the pocket and get a bit more wear than regular washi." "I got to journaling on the other side and the phrase sticker sheet that came with the Serengeti Memory Keeping kit jumped out at me. Phrase stickers are a fav of mine and I incorporated them into my list for fun and emphasis. I really like how it turned out!" "If you’re looking to add some fun to your pocket pages, try a simple flip card!" Our final layout today is from Ria. She used items from past Cocoa Daisy memory keeping kits to document a recent trip to Italy. "Hi everyone! Every time I come home from a trip, I always bring home ephemera in the form of tickets, passes, stubs, menus, business cards and more. These ephemera make lovely additions to my scrapbook pages. Sometimes these ephemera go well with a layout. But sometimes, they don’t." "In this layout, I loved my plane tickets but I didn’t want to put them on display so I opted to put them in a pocket instead. I just DIYed this pocket by tracing around the ticket to make sure it fits, then l just left a few cm allowance to fold it in." "I added a few embellishments and letter stickers to make it more appealing. I hope you try putting in pockets inside your TN. They are awesome for keeping all sorts of fun things!" We love the simple and unique designs Ria creates and all the layouts she has created using elements from many of our past kits. Ria's hand journaling and soft color palettes show us each and every story we capture is a beautiful thing.
