You can create all the fun layers in your memory keeping layouts with the Daily Journal Collection.

Ashley Horton: Love Those Layers

I love that the Cocoa Daisy Kits give you so many different types of embellishments. They are perfect for mixing and layering on your layouts, which adds interest and dimension to your projects. I used the Simple Dori from the Daily Journal Traveler's Notebook Memory Keeping Kit for this layout, and I just happened to have a photo that picked up some of the colors from this month's Kits!

I decided to use layers as sort of a frame around my photo. I started with one of the die cut folders from the Daily Journal Modern Memory Keeping Kit. Instead of folding it over to use as a folder, I just left it open and layered it behind my photo for a punch of black. Then I went through and grabbed some of the adhesive backed die cut pieces, stickers and rub-ons to layer in front of and behind my photo. I love the interest all of the pieces create around my photo.

Since I had a lot going on, on the left hand side of the layout, I decided to keep things a bit more simple on the right hand side. I just used a few of the adhesive backed die cuts and some of the stickers to create a small collage. I love how it looks over the polka dot background and how it balances everything on the left side of the layout.
