I love the look of mixed media, but I don't often want to take the time it requires to include it on a layout. The Daily Journaling Collection makes the process easier and much less messy!

  

  

To begin the project, I selected a spread in the Daily Simple Dori to serve as a base. I liked the Daily Journal Traveler's Notebook Memory Keeping Kit card with the "art is chaos" sentiment, and I thought it worked well with my photo and story. I loved the design of the card, so I kept the page relatively simple by adding only a trimmed scallop die cut and a camera die cut from the Daily Journal Modern Memory Keeping Kit. I also added a bit of stamping with the Daily Journal Modern Memory Keeping Kit stamp.

  

  

For the other side of the layout, I used the mixed media style stamps from the Daily Journal Modern Memory Keeping Kit to add interest to the background. I stamped using green and black inks, concentrating the stamping around the edges of the layout and behind my photo. Next, I trimmed a rub on from the Daily Journal Modern Memory Keeping Kit in half and added the pieces to the top and bottom edges of the page.

  

  

Then, I added more rub ons below the photo. Rub ons work so well on pictures, and I love the look! To complete the page, I stamped the date with a Cocoa Daisy Roller Date Stamp and black ink.
