Carol Weatherspoon: "Just My Type" Small Scale Spread
Are you as smitten with the typewriters from the Paperie Collection, as I am? I don't know what it is about old-school typewriters but it just brings back memories of the "Good Ole Days!" Speaking of good ole days, there aren't too many days better than my birthday, so when I started thinking of a layout, the "Just My Type" theme was front and center.  For this punny layout, I went for a photo of my hubby and me smooching on my birthday. It really fit the retro theme with the tie-dyed shirt I had on. For my title, I printed the text onto vellum and used a circle die cut from my stash. One great tip for any kind of memory keeping is to have a set of shaped dies on hand (circles, squares, and rectangles). You can use them to cut your title (like I did here) or to die cut a certain area of patterned paper you like or even cut your photos so you have the perfect cut every time. Having these basics in your stash goes a long way! On the right side of my spread, I staggered a die-cut typewriter from the  Paper Classified: Memory Keeping Kit and a rub-on typewriter from the Paperie Traveler's Notebook Memory Keeping Kit on top of each other. I love the look that it gives because it helps to frame the page. If you take a look at the way everything is laid out on the page, it kind of makes an "S" in the middle of the page. Your eyes easily move from one design element to the next. The die cuts and rub-ons included in the Paperie Collection are absolutely fabulous. I plan to challenge myself to use as many die cuts as possible this month because they really add a lot of character to a page.Share with us by tagging @cocoa_daisy on social media or posting to the Cocoa Daisy Fan Page.
