How to Have Some Sea Fun

How to Have Some Sea Fun
Hello friends, Our design team's challenge today was to have some sea fun with our To the Sea kits and we absolutely adore their ideas! Odessa has created a lovely TN design and Kristine is sharing a fabulous Memory Planner layout that is actually a scene. Ah yes! more creative ways to document the every day with out July kits. Now let's see what Odessa created. "To the Sea! Well, more like the lake, but close enough! Living in the middle of North America means that it’s a long way to to the sea for me. I had this pretty sunset lake pic that I printed as a horizontal photo for my Traveler’s Notebook that I used for this page." "I kept the embellishing simple on my photo with just a rub-on in the middle. Perfection! The rub-ons work so nice for embellishing photos without getting too busy, it looks like it was meant to be there!" "On the bottom I used one of the papers from the To the Sea Memory Keeping Kits as the background. The Classified Memory Keeping Kit came with super fun mismatched alpha stickers that I used for the title for some journaling." "I also used a tag from the Classified Memory Keeping Kit and some phrase stickers mostly from the Memory Keeping Sticker Kit to add my highlights as a side bar as well as some other alpha stickers for emphasis. I think it turned out super cute! These kits have the perfect things for documenting fun at sea (or the lake) and I love it!" And we love that you made this kit your own Odessa. Yes, let's document our lake memories with this kit too! And next we have Kristine's layout and she is really making a scene . "The moment I saw the free planner printables for this month, I knew I had to make a sea scene in my large format Happy Planner. Since July 1 was on a Wednesday, I was able to load up the Monday and Tuesday columns with cute little fish and sea creatures, leaving a bit more space on the rest of the daily columns for journaling." "Every underwater element you see here is from the free printables - no stickers or die cuts!" One design tip for you - when I do a scene like this, I like to help the viewer imagine that the scene goes on beyond the pages. One way to do that is to let an element or two, like this little octopus, go off the page a bit. I stuck him on and then trimmed off the part that went off the page. It’s an easy way to use up real estate at the edge of the page and make your scene really pop! We love Kristine's super playful and colorful sea scene and we'd like to see your fun ideas with our kits and printables too. As an added bonus, you can find all our free planner printables in one place by clicking here. Please share what you are making by tagging @cocoa_daisy on social media or posting in our private CD Fans facebook group so that we can admire your memory keeping and planner ideas too! Happy crafting! ~Robin
