Rachel Newman: Planning with the Classic Vertical Inserts

[embed]https://youtu.be/PxOzgI5JeaI[/embed]   I could not WAIT for February and the chance to dive into the Paperie Collection. The colors, illustrations, patterns, embellishments, and stamps give me all the "heart eyes"! I especially love the Paperie Vertical Classic Inserts¬†that come with a main divider/dashboard that is a standalone page. This allows me to create a monthly section for my tasks and notes that I refer to when planning my weeks. And I love having a space to decorate the back of my month of two pages (shown here on the right side). The watercolor design inspired me to do a little ink "smooshing". This technique involves grabbing a piece of plastic packaging, stamp inks, and a little bit of water. I ink up the packaging, spritz a little water, fold the packaging to move the ink around, turn it over and "smoosh" it onto the paper. The monthly spread is great for jotting down events, deadlines, bills, and holidays. It is also a great place to play with stamps, rub-ons, and embellishments from the collection. I have a few favorite techniques on this page. The first is repeated stamping as I did inside the box on the 21st. To contain the stamping, I masked around the box with sticky notes. For Valentine's Day, I included love birds in a way where it appears that the pink bird is blowing a kiss up to the blue bird. So cute! On the opposite page, I included the large number stamp from past Traveler's Notebook Kits. The date stickers from the Paperie Planner Kit¬†what week of recovery I am on after a recent surgery. I find the sidebar to be the perfect place to add quotes from the Paperie Classic Sticker Kit.     Onto the weekly layout! I want to start by expressing my love for the color block/checklist page. I think of it like a weekly dashboard, a place to section out my tasks and track photos taken (in the color block days). At the end of the month, I'll add this page to my Daisy Planner to help me with weekly photo printing. For this planner, you can't go wrong with the Paperie Classic Sticker Kit. The deco boxes, clipboards, and trackers fit the planner columns perfectly and there is plenty of fun and functional sticker throughout the kit. I also would be lost without the stickers from the Paperie Planner Add-On Kit, especially the dates and icons.¬† I try to give each day a focus and to do this, I used the alpha stickers from the Paperie Planner Kit to spell out the days' priority. I still have plenty of room to add items in as they come up, but I love having a little bit of prettiness greeting me when I open to this week in my planner.   Share your planner pages with us by tagging @cocoa_daisy on social media or posting to the Cocoa Daisy Fan Page.
