Grid Design in the Simple Dori

Hello, friends Grid Designs are a great choice for your memory-keeping spreads. It provides structure and room to play with embellishments.

Marsha Farris: Grid Design Simple Dori Layout

Grid layouts have always been one of my go-to designs in memory keeping. I like that they allow for lots of patterns and embellishments without appearing too busy. For the project I'm sharing today, I created a grid layout in my Paperie Simple Dori, documenting a recent selfie.
To start the layout, I selected some box stickers from the Paperie Memory Keeping Sticker Kit and arranged them on the page. I also chose two patterned papers and trimmed them to the same size to fit into the grid design. After I had the base of the layout complete, I created the title using black puffy alpha stickers from the Paperie Traveler's Notebook Memory Keeping Kit. Then, I couldn't resist adding some of the fun rub-ons to a few areas of the page.
I used chipboard stickers and die cuts from the Paperie Traveler's Notebook Memory Keeping Kit and Paperie Modern Memory Keeping Kit to embellish each patterned block. I also created a fun embellishment cluster by combining a stamped word, a phrase sticker, and a heart die-cut.
At the bottom corner of the spread, I created a transparent pocket by folding vellum around a patterned paper block before adhering it to the page. A tag from the Paperie Modern Memory Keeping Kit fits perfectly in the pocket and held some handwritten journaling. To complete the layout, I added more phrase stickers from the Paperie Memory Keeping Sticker Kit and Paperie Classic Sticker Kit. Happy creating!
