For the Love of Fall Foliage
Hello, friends!
While we love to document moments with family, and friends and fun adventures, it is also fun to document the change of seasons! In the Northern Hemisphere, as we shift to cooler temperatures, we are showing our appreciation with a few memory-keeping spreads all about fall foliage.
Ashley Horton: Scrap It Notebook Spread
Fall is definitely my favorite time of the year, and I love to take photos of the changing leaves. Because we are so far south, it's hard to get those pictures, but a recent trip to Atlanta had me feeling all of the Fall feels!
The Doodles & Dashes II Collection is filled with all of the Fall products I needed for my layout. I decided to work inside my Scrap It Notebook to create a grid with my photos and the products from the collection. I always love to cut up the journaling cards that come in the Doodles & Dashes II Modern Memory Keeping Kit. They are great for including patterns or phrases in your projects.
Once I had my photos and patterns in place, I brought in some of the die-cut pieces. I love to layer them over photos or inside the squares where I have patterned papers. And the stickers from the Doodles & Dashes II Memory Keeping Sticker Kit are great accents layered over photos, too!
I finished my layout with the puffy alpha stickers that are in the Doodles & Dashes II Modern Memory Keeping Kit. I loved the look of the brownish letters over the yellow paper that I used from inside the Simple Dori in the Doodles & Dashes II Traveler's Notebook Memory Keeping Kit. Marsha Farris: Simple Dori Spread
I love the fall season and capturing the colorful leaves found this time of the year. The Doodles & Dashes II Collection collection is full of fall colors and icons, perfect for this Simple Dori layout documenting a photo taken last November on a trip to the mountains of Tennessee.
To begin the spread, I chose a patterned paper from the collection to use as the background. Because I knew I wanted to use lots of colorful leaf embellishments, I selected a muted pattern. I then chose a library pocket and card from the Doodles & Dashes II Traveler's Notebook Memory Keeping Kit and added them to the page. Some dark gray puffy alpha stickers from a previous kit were used to create the title on the library pocket. Next, I embellished the pocket and card with embossed puffy leaf stickers and rub-ons.
For the other side of the spread, I backed my photo with a patterned paper to allow it to stand out on the page. I added a variety of leaf rub-ons, die cuts, and puffy stickers and included some chipboard and die-cut phrase stickers.
Then, I added a bit of stamping with the Doodles & Dashes II Traveler's Notebook Memory Keeping Kit and Doodles & Dashes II Modern Memory Keeping Kit stamps. A scattering of glitter enamel dots was the perfect finishing touch for the page. Check out this Instagram Reel to see my layout process!
