Documenting Memories with a Grid Pattern
Hello Cocoa Daisy friends,
On the blog today we are exploring documenting with a grid pattern. Grids are a great way to establish balance and organize the elements you want to include in your documentation. They can be created with pocket pages, washi tape, stitching, paper strips, and stamping in almost any size page and work well across double-page layouts. Let's begin with a grid design by Odessa.
"I really like working in grids. It’s a simple framework that helps bring a little bit of order to my page. Here I started with a large square photo and a few smaller ones. I picked a yellow grid spread from the Tulip Time Traveler’s Notebook insert - using a grid makes it a little easier to lay things out."
"I placed the large photo and the smaller ones on my page and started pulling out embellishments from the Tulip Time kits to decorate my page. I used a lot of elements from the Memory Keeping Classified Kit. It always has the perfect touches to finish off my page; this month I’ve been using the chipboard stickers and enamel dots that came with it a lot."
"I filled the empty grid spots with chipboard, enamel dots, stickers and more. I then added a border using the washi tape from the Planner Kit and a washi strip from one of the sticker sheets from the Memory Keeping Sticker Kit along with some word strips and more chipboard under my photos."
"Finally a bit of journaling and my layout was done! It’s really fun to pull out all my supplies and start piecing them together like this, it’s kind of like a puzzle."
We love all the details in Odessa's grid design. They way Odessa placed her elements creates the grid on the left and her use of the washi tape brings both sides of her double-page design together. Our second grid design is a lovely 2-page 6x8 spread with pockets by Sabrina.
"For this project I decided to Week in the Life 2019 photos in my perspective meaning that I picked my favorites that represented how the week went for me. This helped me create a fun, everyday themed project with lots of photos."
"I make my me albums in 6x8 so I needed a 6x8 collage to hold a lots of photos. I have also included the 6x8 collage as a free download with the Dropbox link."
"I used the 2 big spaces to add embellishments, journaling cards and papers. I also used the pocket memory sticker kit because it has a wide variety of word phrases. I loved bringing this page together and using all the fun bright colors in."
