Changing up the layout in your dori booklet

Changing up the layout in your dori booklet
Hi planner friends!  I love to plan in my Cocoa Daisy dori booklet, however, I like to change up the layout just a little bit to better fit my needs. I love that Cocoa Daisy products make it easy to do whatever you want to fit your life and I wanted to show you how I use mine. When I get my booklet, one of the first things I do is to add a half-page to the right side of the front set of grid planner pages. I am using the standard size dori insert and I also get the A5 rings inserts, so I use the rainbow pages from the A5 kit, cut in half to create a place to meal plan for the week. This is my starting point for the week. The layout as it sits is designed to have Mon, Tue, Wed on the left side and Thu, Fri, Sat & Sun on the right. That means that the weekend is split into that last box on the right side and it doesn't leave me enough room to plan the weekend. I typically do all my household chores over the weekend because I am at work several days during the week (even though right now I am at home due to the pandemic) and I like to keep the weekdays open. I am keeping myself to the same basic week right now as I did while going to work because I need to stay in the habit. So, that is why I like to give myself more space for Sat & Sun. I start by dividing the left page into six sections instead of three using some super skinny washi tape. I also have just used a pen to draw a line, either way, it works great. So, now I have six smaller sections on the left and three large ones on the right. I set up Mon-Fri using five of the boxes on the left and choose two boxes for Sat & Sun on the right. This leaves me one large box to add decor, journaling, a photo, lists, etc... you get the idea!  Next, I add in my days of the week and date stickers along with some other decor. I'll add in my appropriate stickers for the things that I know I am doing each day. I use the small day of the week stickers on my right side rainbow page to indicate the meal plans for those days. Some months, I don't need to use those if I don't cut off the artwork that already says the day of the week. For May, I chose to cut it off.  Now you can see how much space I have for all the weekend things and hopefully soon, some out of the house plans! Next, I will go in and write in any appointments or things I need to do on a particular day.  I use the fold-over piece as a to-do list for the week. I love how well this works, as it is very visible when I open up my planner to this page and helps keep me on track during the week. Here is a look at how my final layout for the week looks. I still have enough room to write in anything that comes up, and space to document or journal. This layout works perfectly for my life. You can customize the page in so many ways that fit a variety of needs. I hope this gives you some ideas on how to customize your dori booklet! Thank you so much for stopping by and reading today!
