6x8 Memory Keeping with Take Flight Kits
Hello, friends!
Have you jumped into you Take Flights Kits? Here is a little 6x8 spread to get you inspired!
Linda Jordan: 6x8 Spread
Hi, it's Linda here and I wanted to share some ideas for using the Take Flight Collection on a 6x8 layout. I love working in the 6x8 size because it's the perfect size to pair one photo + a few words to tell your story.
This collection is perfect for spring and weather-related stories! This photo of my daughter lying down in the rain after a rough week instantly popped into my head as one I wanted to document using this collection. After printing my photo large enough to span most of the spread, I mounted the photo on one of the gorgeous papers from the Take Flight Modern Memory Keeping Kit.
To help my photo feel "grounded" on the spread, I cut a strip of patterned paper from one of the other pieces in the kit as a base. Then I layered this with some white washi from my stash. After adhering my photo, I added more washi from the kit + some label stickers to add a few thoughts. Finally, I finished the embellishment cluster with a title, which I trimmed from one of the cards in the Take Flight Modern Memory Keeping Kit.
The star of this kit, in my opinion, were all of the gorgeous rainbows. I knew I wanted to use them as a focal point on my spread, so I picked out the beautiful 3x4 card that had a whole assortment of mini rainbows. I fussy cut each rainbow out and created a strip down the side of my page on top of a strip of thin white washi from my stash. Then I used my sewing machine to stitch the rainbow border in place.
