Marsha Farris: Packaging Repurposed!

Today I'm sharing a layout in my Daisy Fields Simple Dori. I loved the abstract floral pattern in the notebook and wanted to use it as a base for my spread. I chose to document a photo of my youngest son, taken at a local pumpkin patch last year.
To begin the layout, I chose a few chipboard tags from the Daisy Fields Modern Memory Keeping Kit and lined them up on the left page.
I kept the design simple by using a mix of rub-ons and stamping to embellish the page. To complete the left page, I sprinkled in a few of the pretty glitter enamel dots.
For the right side of the spread, I began by folding and tearing a piece of the yellow dot tissue paper included with each Cocoa Daisy package. This tissue paper is too pretty to throw away, and I was excited to include it in my project! I layered my photo over the folded paper and embellished it with another chipboard tag and flower puffy stickers. Next, I created the title with puffy alphabet stickers and a label sticker from the Daisy Fields Classified: Memory Keeping Kit. A bit of stamping on a die cut and a few enamel dots added below the photo were the perfect finishing touches for this fall layout. I love how my Daisy Fields Simple Dori spread turned out using the beautiful Daisy Fields Collection!

Today I’m sharing a travelers notebook layout I created in my Daisy Fields Simple Dori using items from the Daisy Fields Travelers Notebook Memory Keeping Kit- washi, floral puffy stickers, die-cut stickers, and glitter dots. I also pulled the alpha stickers from the Daisy Fields Classified: Memory Keeping Kit and some thread from my stash.
As I was flipping through the Daisy Fields Simple Dori I was really drawn to the pages with the watercolor splashes. I decided they would be the perfect place to tell a story about a cat named Barney my son is trying to befriend at his job. He sends me pictures of Barney when he crosses paths with her during his shifts, and I selected and printed three of my favorites to help tell my story.
I decided right away to change things up a bit and flip the Simple Dori pages horizontally. I knew wanted to highlight Barney’s name, so I pulled out the yellow alpha die-cut stickers from the Daisy Fields Classified: Memory Keeping Kit. I also knew I wanted to include the cute little cat die cut on my layout, so I pulled out the Daisy Fields Travelers Notebook Memory Keeping Kit die cuts. I then decided I wanted to include a little cluster of elements and selected a few more die cuts from the kit.
As I began to plan out my cluster, I realized it needed something to help ground it. I pulled out the beautiful floral washi from the Daisy Fields Travelers Notebook Memory Keeping Kit and tore off 3” to add that grounding element. I also felt like I needed another cluster on the opposite side to help balance the layout. I pulled out the puffy floral stickers. I LOVED the daisies!
I layered two and then decided to add a third to my original cluster. I finished up both clusters by sprinkling some glitter enamel dots. I typed my journaling, then printed it on clear matte sticker paper, added it to my layout, and called this Simple Dori project done! Watch me work on this spread in this process video on Instagram!

Natasha Pytlik: Add Layers!

I just love how approachable and effortless it is to create beautiful layouts with the Simple Dori notebook. My favorite way to use the Simple Dori is to break down the notebook, trim the pages in half and punch to be able to use in a ringed binder.
For this layout, I started off pulling a variety of floral embellishments from the collection. This layout was about all of the pollinators that visit my garden now that I have planted so many flowers.
To build the background I took the daisy stamp from the Daisy Fields Travelers Notebook Memory Keeping Kit and stamped that in a diagonal to add to the existing artwork on the page. From there I added layers of rub-ons and die cuts.
A final detail to add was a little bit of stamping and, of course, some sparkle with the enamel dots. To complete the page, I added my title to the page using my favorite style of alpha from Cocoa Daisy, the puffy sticker alphas in the smaller size paired with some sticker alphas. Using two different fonts makes the layout even more fun and colorful.
