Creative Captions with the Daisy Fields Collection

There are so many ways to create beautiful captions using the Daisy Fields Collection. Captions help tell your stories and highlight your documented moments.
Audrey Medd: Crafty Mind Map
It's September and time for another crafty mind map. This planner/memory-keeping project is a great way to use all of those fun "captioned" sayings from the collection.
I then used the stamps from the collection and stickers to add my tasks, goals, and to-dos for the month. I placed them all around the page. I added the bees because they are so cute!
 Finally, I connected them all together using the pen from the Daisy Fields Planner Kit. The pen this month is so fun; it has Daisies on it. I first connect to the central theme, the Hello September sticker, and then connected the sub-themes together. Cheers Daisies!!
Jil Larson: Pocket Pages
When I think about captions, I think of pocket pages. This is a form of documenting that’s all about the nitty-gritty details of life, including small, funny moments. That’s what makes what I still call Project Life so much fun to look back on!
The Cocoa Daisy kits offer many ways to caption photos: stickers, die cuts, stamps, and alphabets. Since this is my first page for September, I knew I wanted a card identifying the month, so I layered a die-cut September tag on top of the blue card, tucking a botanical die cut underneath and a puffy floral sticker at the top. Both images function as captions because two of my photos are of plants still flourishing in late summer. The pokeweed at the bottom right I captioned with a label I typed on combined with a small sticker. The “crisp air” stamp (on the month card) was the perfect caption to remind me what nights feel like these days. I teach college, and our semester just started, so I included a photo of my stack of books. The Daisy Fields Collection gave me a “read all about it” caption, which I called attention to with the ampersand rub-on. “Back to School” was perfect for this card, too, and Daily Life (around here) is a caption for the spread as a whole. I had recently completed an art journal page about saying goodbye to summer, so that was easy to caption (and I used the “hello fall” stamp on the journal page itself!).
I repeat this theme with the Autumn definition card on the bottom row, which I captioned with a stamp. The card that holds most of my journaling is captioned “I like it: new floor,” combining a sticker and puffy alphas. I used an arrow from the rub-ons to guide the eye to my photo of the new floor my boyfriend just put down.
The other arrow points across to my dog Hazel looking guilty: the caption is “I ate the kitty food.” As I said, pocket pages are a great home for real life and silly details! I hope my examples inspire some ideas about how to caption your photos if you’re a pocket-page memory-keeper.
Natasha Pytlik: Simple Dori Spread
As soon as I went through the Daisy Fields Collection and saw the watercolor markings in all the beautiful colors as a rub-on, I knew that I wanted to use this for a tone-on-tone layout to really play into the color story of the collection.
After applying the rub-on to my Simple Dori pages, I used the tiny word stickers found in the Daisy Fields Classified: Memory Keeping Kit and layered those stickers with the corresponding color swatch. I think this is such a classy and elevated design!
 With the word stickers, I wanted to add some more details, so I grabbed a few more rub-ons, puffy stickers, and of course, a little sparkle with the enamel dots all found in the Daisy Fields Travelers Notebook Memory Keeping Kit. These tiny word stickers are so great for memory keepers who aren’t big on journaling. It’s such a helpful product to have around in your creative toolkit.
On the other side of my layout, I used the stamp set from September as well as August to create a simple but sweet journaling spot. I selected the “snapshot” stamp to help caption the photo as my snapshot of my little piece of paradise.
I can’t forget to mention that I used the “noted” embellishment layered with another tiny word sticker to hide the unsightly caution sticker in the spa. Tiny word stickers really are the MVP of this layout by elevating design and of course, capturing the words of this moment. They might be tiny but they certainly have a big impact.
