Memory Planning with the Big Sky Kits

Howdy, friends!

Planners are not just for tasks and schedules anymore. They are also the perfect place to document your memories!

Taina Cortes: Memory Planning with the Big Sky Kits

Hello my crafty friends! It’s Tai and I am here to show you how I used the Big Sky Collection in my classic sized memory planner. I have kept a memory planner for the last 6 years. It is one of my favorite annual projects. I love capturing everyday moments in this planner. I used to do a Big (letter size) Happy Planner but the last few years I changed to the classic sized. It is a little less intimidating to complete these weekly spreads.

The Big Sky 12x12 Scrapbooking Kit included a gorgeous patterned paper of a dessert sky line. It looks like a photograph, its so beautiful. I wanted to use as much as possible of this patterned paper in my layout. I decided to simply cover up 2/3 of my layout with it and placed my photos on top of it, like a true ‘scrapbook’.

With the scrapbook paper was place and I put my photos around in small groupings and used the tiny stickers that looked like nails, bolts and clips from the  Big Sky Modern Memory Keeping Kit to look like they were nailed to the wall. I used a few more of the stickers to add more interest to my photo groupings. I used a few of the stickers from the Big Sky Memory Keeping Sticker Kit for a lovely quote and watercolor markings on the left side of my layout too.

The Big Sky Memory Keeping Stamps included in both kits are great with coordinating icons. I used the Wild Honey Distress Oxide ink and used each icon at the top with the date on each column. It draws your eye to travel along the top to see each image.

For the last details, I added some stripes of wash tape along the bottoms of both pages and then did another repeat element with the washi sticker roll from the  Big Sky Stationary Kit along the bottom of the top row. I enjoy adding in all this tiny details to make a layout come together. I will do my journaling with colored ink, perhaps brown or orange. Using a photographic scrapbook paper for the main element of design packed a punch for this layout in my memory planner. I hope you found some inspiration with my project today. Until next time.
