Fun with Rub-Ons from our Acorn Lane Kits
Hello everyone! Rub-ons are a fun way to add color and a bit of texture without bulk to your layouts and planners. The rub-ons that came in our Acorn Lane kits are gorgeous and can be added to many different textures including photographs, cardstock and patterned papers. And they can be rubbed on white card stock and then fussy cut to create rich colorful ephemera. Our design team challenge was to use the Acorn Lane rub-ons in their layouts and the results are beautiful! Let's begin with Jil's design. She notes, "I chose the Fall Favorites pocket card because I wanted my spread to focus on what I'm loving in October. The Acorn Lane rub-ons were the perfect embellishments to accompany my list and my photo of our neighborhood trees, bright now with red leaves." "'This is my happy place' on the hexagon rub-on helped me convey how much I love both where I live and the season of autumn. I framed the photo with an embellishment cluster of die cut, tab and wood veneer leaf, and this hexagon below the photo, and above it I used the pretty flourish rub-on as well as a rub-on heart, a label with stamped with the "Fall vibes" sentiment, a wood grain sequin, and both above and below I included leaves punched from a bit of navy paper from my stash." "I love the blue in the Acorn Lane kits and decided to set it off with a dark blue neutral. I layered more of that paper and the kit paper under my journaling card along with another blue rub-on just peeking out beneath the title. The "enjoy a cuppa" rub-on fit well with my list, so I added that to the top of the card." "Rub-ons just melt into the page, and are so satisfying to use!" Jil used quite a few rub-ons in her layout and you know we love all the additional little details including the Acorn Lane washi tapes and ink splatters. Next we have a design by Evy and she tells us, "One thing I love about the travelers notebook is that it allows me to create a memory in an instant. For this project, for example, I used a strip of patterned paper, 2 stamps and a photo for the left page. I just added 2 rub-ons on the photo." "On the right the handwritten caption and 2 other rub-ons. I love the glossy effect of rub-ons and the ability to apply them on photos and paper and you can also stamp on it." And here is the finished project, simple but I like it!" Evy's layout is just darling. The gnome and mushroom rub-ons give it such a whimsical feel. And we love Evy's stamping too. We hope you enjoyed seeing how our design team is using the Acorn Lane rub-ons in their layouts. We invite you to share your memory keeping and planner documentation with us in our private facebook group and on social media.
