Spring Greetings!
I think we can all use a little dose of happy and bright right now. And that is exactly what we have in mind for our blog post today. We challenged our Memory Keeping design team to "think spring" and we think you'll agree they "knocked it out of the park!" Let's take a look at Audrey's traditional 12x12 design to kick off our welcome to Spring!
"Hi Friends! I don't know about you, but with the current world events lately I am thinking spring and loving all of the crafty goodness that comes with it. So, a great way to use many of our beautiful kit items is to cluster and layer them around a circle. I used a paper from my stash for the foundation and my circle cut file, which I enlarged, is from the Whimsy Fox Crafts shop on Etsy."
"Now, I have a few tips and tricks to get us started!
TIP ONE: The embroidered patches from the planner add on kit are perfect for adding dimension and texture. Place a few flat one dimensional stickers (found in all the kits) underneath and then the embroidered patch on top. The one dimensional stickers will add the illusion of additional height to the embroidered patch."
"TIP TWO: Pop up a flower die cut with some pop dots (here, I used pops dots from my stash) and then sneak one of the round chipboard shapes slightly underneath the popped up die cut. This technique, again provides dimension and highlights both the chipboard piece and the die cut. Also, by repeating the circle shape throughout your large circle, you create repetition to help make your layout cohesive."
"TIP THREE: Take that cute peachy pink bow clip or any of the clips that come in the kits, and place it on one of your photos. You can secure the back with some washi tape if you want, but its not going anywhere once you glue the photo down. Much like the embroidered patch, clips bring varying textures to your layout making it totally unique. Here's the full view of my layout."
"I am so looking forward to see how you all celebrate spring. Cheers!"
How adorable is this!!! We love all of Audrey's ideas and tips. They can be incorporated into many memory keeping mediums and sizes. We hope you'll try one or two or all of these ideas in your layouts. You can see how Audrey's layout came together in her video located here.
Next let's take a look at Korrie-ann's travelers notebook design, Korrie-ann notes, "Spring is a time for new life, whether it's the birth of baby lambs or flowers beginning to bloom. At a lovely park just around the corner from our house, I found the crocuses are out in full bloom. I just had to capture and document them!"
"I layered my photos with the peach chevron paper and placed them at different angles on the page. On the opposite page which is where I will add my journaling, I decorated with a pocket card from the pocket card memory keeping kit."
"Next, I added the word Yay with kit alpha stickers and popped one of the flower bunches on the corner. I placed die cuts where I wanted them before I finished up my documenting with my journaling."
"Yay Spring Is Here!!!"
Yep, we are seriously happy about that! Korrie-ann's simple and sweet documentation of the first signs of Spring is lovely on the eyes and our spirits. Our final design is from Sabrina and she is also documenting in her Orchard Path simple dori.
"Hi! I was excited to do a project about Spring with lots of colors and patterns from the Orchard Path kits. I decided to document some Thursday 3 selfies and use one of the green journaling cards with a quote as my starting point."
"For my focal photo I used several of the beautiful patterned papers to layer behind it. I even used a floral journaling card as a photo mat behind the photo and it also adds to the overall theme of spring. I included chipboard and enamel dots to add in more color and dimension."
"Also, I tried out the small script words and I love them! Instead of stamping a sentiment on the green tag I used the stickers “this is” and “real life”. I also used the “right here” sticker on the journaling card."
"Loved using a variety of pieces from the kit to bring this spring travelers notebook spread to life."
Sabrina used the subscriber bonus stickers in her layout in such a thoughtful way. They add to the simple elegance of her design. And we love the way Sabrina mirrored the striped pattern on the left with the chipboard heart and the touch of striped washi on the top of the quote pocket card.
