Versatile Tags for Memory Keeping and Planning!
Hello, friends! Tags are such a wonderful item for memory-keeping. They can be a matte for photos in a layout, included as a flip to provide more space on a page, and slip inside a pocket for hidden journaling or photos. So many possibilities with a simple tag! Renee likes to use tags for those photo-heavy weeks in her memory planner.
This week I knew I had a lot of photos that I wanted to include in my Memory Planner, so I had to try and come up with a creative way to add them. The tags from the Meadow Classified: Memory Keeping Kit were the perfect solution! I added the ‘March’ title with the letter stickers from Meadow Memory Keeping Sticker Kit. The dates for each day were numbers I created and printed out myself on clear sticker paper. It was my niece’s 16th birthday and I really wanted to include the number 16 in the title of my page. The yellow puffy letters from the Meadow Modern Memory Keeping Kit do not include numbers so I created my own – I used the l for the number 1, and for the 6 I flipped the g upside down and cut off the serif.
To adhere the tags, I used Satin Finish scotch tape. I cut a piece of tape the length of the tag then placed half on the front of the tag, laid the tag down where I wanted it to sit on my layout then wrapped the other half of the tape around the backside of the paper then rubbed my bone folder over both sides of the tape to make sure it was down securely. I recommend using the satin finish scotch tape as you can barely see it – glossy scotch tape it too shiny and stands out.
The small tag on the left side of the layout was blank so I added one of the clear phrase stickers from the Meadow Memory Keeping Sticker Kit on the top side, then printed out my niece’s birth announcement from 16 years ago and glued it down on the backside of the tag. The Spring Fever, Spring Walk, and butterfly stickers came from Meadow Modern Memory Keeping Kit for the journaling box came from Meadow Travelers Notebook Memory Keeping Kit.
To make the journaling boxes on the right side of my layout I used two 3x4 cards from the Meadow Modern Memory Keeping Kit and cut them down to size. The ‘Makes me Happy’ and ‘How we pass the time’ stickers came from the Meadow Travelers Notebook Memory Keeping Kit.
To create my interactive ‘flip up’ I used a piece of white cardstock cut roughly to the size I wanted to use on my page. I adhered the 2 photos I wanted on the top of the flip to the bottom left corner of the paper. I used my bone folder to make a folding crease above the photos, folded paper over then cut it to the precise size to fit my layout. I added the 3 smaller photos to the top inside flap, added my journaling and the ‘Its’s a good day …’ stamp from the Meadow Travelers Notebook Memory Keeping Kit.
When I add ‘flips’ to my planner pages I like to add a small flag or piece of sturdy paper so the flip stays closed. In this layout, I used one of the flag stickers from the Meadow Memory Keeping Sticker Kit. To make it sturdier I stuck it down to a piece of cardstock first, cut off the excess then used a staple to keep it in place. Note: you will need to staple your flag to your flip-up before you glue it down on your spread to avoid having the staple show on the backside of your layout.
We are delighted to have Carol join our Creative Team! I'm so excited to share my first post on the Cocoa Daisy blog! I'm sharing a traveler's notebook spread with some super cute and beautiful elements from the Meadow Collection. My family and I recently went on a cruise to the Bahamas and we had a great time! I thought this collection would be perfect to document our vacation. I used tags from the Meadow Travelers Notebook Memory Keeping Kit as well as goodies from the Meadow Classified: Memory Keeping Kit.   For the main journaling tag, I ink blended yellow and blue ink onto a light blue tag. I love the greenish-blue hue it gave me! I printed my journaling onto a piece of vellum and adhered it with washi tape and a sticker so I wouldn't have any adhesive residue behind the vellum. I added a few more of those darling puffy stickers and stamped the word Bahamas onto that large tag using the Beanstalk Alpha Stamp. This stamp set is a MUST-HAVE! I added another photo to the top of the tag along with a few other embellishments to complete the page. I can't wait to document the rest of our vacation! Tag, you're it!
