Using the overlay in Traveler's Notebooks + videos
Hi everyone. Tanti is here I love Cocoa Daisy’s overlay that mostly comes with the planner classified kit. I used it almost every time I got it, because it makes my planner and journal pages look more interesting to look at. Since I’m a TN user, I’m going to share some inspirations on how you could use overlay in your TN. First of all, a very simple way to use an overlay in your TN is to cut it off and put it into a clear folder. There you have a see through TN dashboard. The clear folder you see on the picture was made by myself. If you want to know how I made it, you can find the tutorial video at the end of this post. I love the look of a see through pocket. So, this month I’ve decided to make one using the overlay. First, I cover the back side of the TN cover with a patterned paper from the planner main kit. Then I cut the overlay as shown on the picture below. (Notes: Don’t throw away the leftover pieces because you can still use them). Next, stick clear double sided tape on its two sides and stick it on. Then, decorate the pocket using die cuts and stickers. This is how I used the leftover pieces. Using stapler, I attached the small triangle piece onto the corner of my journal page. It adds an interesting accent to my page. I used the other leftover pieces for my journal spreads. You can use these techniques not only for your journal pages but also for your planner pages. On the picture below, I used it as a tip-in and I wrote my title on it using the alpha stickers from the pocket memory keeping kit. On the next pictures is another example how you could use the overlay. You can find the journal process video of the journal spread below at the end of this post. This method is a good solution if you have a lot of photos that you want to add onto your spread but still want to have some space to write your journal. I hope this could give you some ideas on how to use your overlay. Thank you so much for joining me today and see you next time.
