Using Quotes to Encourage Unique Layouts

Using Quotes to Encourage Unique Layouts
Hello, Friends! For many of us, our daily happenings are the catalyst for our memory keeping. We take a photo and choose supplies to assist with our documentation. But sometimes, our supplies are what encourage the story we want to tell. In each monthly collection, you can always find a variety of quotes on the pocket cards, dashboards, in the Simple Dori and even the Memory Keeping Sticker Kit. If you are like me, you love looking through your kits and reading through the quotes, exciting to see what layouts they might inspire! In today's post, we've asked the design team to use a quote as their initial starting point for their designs. We'll start with a spread from Aimee with one of my favorite pocket cards from the Cranberry Rose Memory Keeping: Pocket Kit. Image may contain: text that says '2020 LOVING NOV 21 2020 2020 ILIVE FOR DAYI HESE OAIE AULNDA FAVE TODAY'S OBYE 2020! HOLIDAY CALORIES NOT COUNT DO Ctory HUSTLE MEERY EMBER TORIES Love his mnch! 9ee so THIS HAPPENED cocoa ‚ô° daisy rimee mertell 2021 MEMORY KEEPER tell'   "Holiday calories do not count! When I saw this pocket card from the Cranberry Rose Memory Keeping: Pocket Kit I had a pretty good laugh and then I quickly determined it needed its own dedicated layout. I hope I am not the only one this card applies to, but I‚Äôve been eating my fair share of holiday treats! Some of our personal favorites in this house are chocolate covered pretzels, bonus points if they‚Äôre coated with crushed candy cane bits! No photo description available. For this 8.5x11 spread, I went with big, chunky layers in bold colors and I think it gives the layout a funky, Christmas vibe. I pulled in die-cut pieces from both the Cranberry Rose Travelers Notebook¬†kit and Cranberry Rose Memory Keeping: Pocket Kit and popped them up on foam dots for some dimension. I just love how the sentiments go so well with the story I am telling.   Image may contain: ‚Äétext that says '‚ÄéLOVING CURRENTLY NOV 2 4 2020 NOV G Fa. 2020 cocoa Yÿß daisy aimee mertell 2021 MEMORY KEEPER‚Äé'‚Äé I tucked in some of the super versatile labels to build up some fun clusters and of course, added some of the enamel dots for added shine. Image may contain: text that says 'so THIS HAPPENED cocoa ‚ô° daisy aimee mertell tell 2021 MEMORY KEEPER' Then, in my typical fashion, I took a beautiful green plaid paper from the Cranberry Rose Travelers Notebook Kit and trimmed it a bit off to use as an anchor at the bottom of the page and I think that ties it all together. Sometimes all it takes is connecting with a quote on a pocket card and you‚Äôve got yourself a layout and a story. So, get crafting and get yourself a snack because holiday calories don‚Äôt count, right?" There are always a few snarky quotes in each kit, and Aimee's page captures the essence of this pocket card perfectly! Our next design is from Odessa, who shares a wintery pocket page spread with us. Image may contain: 1 person, text that says 'WITHIN winter WE SEE THE mdane OF NATURE DEC CHILL AIR FM DECEN ANOTHI |LIVE FOR DAYS LIKE THESE PUAN FAMILY TC PRIO RIGHT NOW RIGHT HERE LOVE enyoying ying the beaury Ïóâ whter OUTSIDE with my FAMILY -evengthirg s FESTIVE all coveredi glrttery SNOW x BRRR ALL THINGS COZY cocoa daisy odessa reichel 2021 MEMORY KEEPER' "It‚Äôs pretty wintery where I am in Canada so the Cranberry Rose Collection went perfectly with some winter fun photos I was documenting. This 3x8 layout was inspired by the ‚ÄúWithin winter we see the magic of nature‚Äù journal card from the Cranberry Rose¬†Memory Keeping: Pocket Kit. While it can be really cold, it‚Äôs also so fresh and sparkly like magic! Image may contain: text I used that card in the top corner of my page and then used another card diagonally on the page to do some journaling. I used a phrase die cut as a title on the card and then used a mix of written journaling with phrase stickers from the Cranberry Rose Memory Keeping Sticker kit to mix it up. I like to plan around the phrase stickers before I start writing so that it comes together nicely. Image may contain: one or more people The other two corners have photos. One was of one of my kids while they were ice skating. I added some extra magic with the vellum snowflakes and glittery enamel dots in the negative space on the photo from the Cranberry¬†Rose Traveler‚Äôs Memory Keeping Notebook Kit¬†with another phrase die cut on top. No photo description available. In the other photo, I used one of the acrylic words from the Cranberry Rose Classified: Memory Keeping kit and¬†a nice bit of chipboard underneath. I used blue and green embellishments throughout my page to coordinate with the journal cards. The dancing snowflakes might be my favourite part. They just look so magic and delicate on the page." We love how Odessa incorporation the phrase stickers into her journaling, like a little journal, prompts. Her use of the vellum snowflakes and enamel dots is a wonderful use of negative space in her photo and mimicks the whimsy of the quote that influences this layout.
