A December to Remember with the Cranberry Rose Collection
By Cocoa Daisy
Hello, Friends!
We are well into December and, hopefully, your documenting of this special month. While this December may feel different than previous years, there is still so much we can include in our December albums. You can document your holiday decorations, gift lists, favorite holiday music, and movies, and pandemic-proof family traditions. For today's post, we are sharing some December spreads from our design team that will inspire and encourage you to document all the special moments of this season.
Let's start with a layout from Audrey, who reminds us to document more than just the moments in our albums.
"As soon as I saw the Cranberry Rose Collection, I knew I had to use it to document the story of my Christmas Card in my Document December album. The collection compliments my Christmas Card so well.
This layout is complicated; it has an envelope for an interactive element and a lot of texture. It is an outside the page protector spread that measures 7 x 8.25. I began by the selecting background. I chose the plaid green paper from the Cranberry Rose Classified: Memory Keeping Kitas it complimented my card so well. I then picked out the paper for the envelope and the yellow wood grain paper, which I cut into 2x2 squares.
Next, I put together the envelope. I used the envelope template from the Love Notes collectionthat debuted in February 2020. I always love using elements from all of my Cocoa Daisy products. The envelope is my interactive element. I set it up so I can pull the journaling part up and down. I haven't done my journaling yet as I haven't sent out my Christmas cards!! I am so behind. You will be able to see how this interactive element works on my process video, which can be found on my channel.
I finished this layout by adding some of the postage and ephemera from the Christmas mail this month to the 2x2 woodgrain squares and layering some of the embellishments found in the kit around the page.
I also stitched around the edge to add some texture. I did leave margins around the edge to have a place to punch my holes, once I figure out how it will be placed on my album. If you want to see how this all came together, you can see my process on my YouTube channel. Cheers friends!" We love that Audrey included her Christmas card in her December Album and created an "unpocket" page, with delicate layers and textures to accompany it.
Our next design is from Casie who shares an interactive pocket page spread from her December Album.
"The blues and greens of the Cranberry Rose Collection are the perfect combinations for an ice-skating layout! I love having layouts inside and outside of the pocket page protectors for my December album.
For this 2-page spread, I used a Snap brand photo flip adhesive pocket. On the front is a photo, to the side is an Avery adhesive tab and behind the photo is a pocket page card with journaling using alpha stickers and an arrow dies cut.
For the other side of the spread, I used an enlarged black and white photo of my boys and added the vellum snowflakes at the photo corners. I love how the snowflakes lift off the page to give it dimension and a pop of winter magic!"
We love how Casie used the papers from the Cranberry Rose Classified: Memory Keeping Kit as the base for her layout. The wintery scene combined with the green plaid gives those cozy winter vibes, perfect for such a cool memory!
And finally, we have a December spread from Evy.
"Like every year, December for me means that it's time for December daily.
I really love using the cards in my December album but I'm also private with my thoughts, so I created these pockets (I used the cameo silhouette) where I inserted the cards with photos and stories of this day.
The advantage is that you can also decorate your pockets, in addition to cards, so the fun is double. Finally, I superimposed an acetate created by me."
How fun are those pockets that Evy created? If you don't have a cutting machine, you could still create your own using the cardstock from the Modern Memory Keeping Kit.
What are you documenting this year in your December Albums using the Cranberry Rose Collection? We would love to see your layouts, so make sure to tag @cocoa_daisy on social media or post to the Cocoa Daisy Fan Page.
