Hello and Happy Friday,
Our design team is sharing their creative ways to use patterns and prints in memory keeping. Kristine and Audrey took two completely different approaches to this challenge and we love the result. Let's begin with Kristine's memory planner layout.
"I usually use a mix of stickers, die cuts, and papers to decorate the spreads in my memory keeping Happy Planner, but for this week, I decided I wanted to use only stamps in the boxes."
"I used the Tulip Time stamp sets from both the TN Memory Keeping kit and the Pocket Memory Keeping Kit - the sets are small, but they pack a punch with 30 stamps between them! I mixed and matched, using layering and repetition techniques, and made sure to use a mix of solid pattern boxes and open word boxes."
"I love how it came out, and I can’t wait to fill this spread up with journaling and photos!" We are looking forward to seeing Kristine's beautiful pages filled in too!
Next we have a traditional 12x12 layout that Audrey created using kit papers with patterns. "My mother's favorite color is red, so as soon as I saw the rich reds in the Tulip Time kit I knew that I had to do a layout with my mom. I chose a picture of my mom, my sister and my niece, three generations of my family for this 12x12 layout."
I started with some blue watercolor paint splatter. Then I ripped up one sheet of the red paper with blue birds on it. I layered the red paper in different direction under the black and white photo and glued it down. I then glued the photo on top.
I placed some of the vellum butterflies around the page and used the stencil with the pen from the main planner kit to trace some of butterflies for a whimsical design around the page.
"After that, I added some stitching with my sewing machine in a playful pattern for dimension. I put the die cuts back on, popping some up with pot dots and then finished with a few stickers and some of the sequins scattered around the page. I love how this layout celebrates my mom."
A sweet generational design that captures a sweet moment. We love all the small details in Audrey created with the sequins, puffy stickers and the butterfly stencil. We'd love to see what you are creating with your Cocoa Daisy kits. Please tag @cocoa_daisy on your social media posts or share with us in the Cocoa Daisy Fans private Facebook group.
Wishing you a happy crafty weekend!
