Tips for Adding Text to Your Memory Keeping Spreads

Tips for Adding Text to Your Memory Keeping Spreads
Hello, friends!
Today, we have a few ideas for adding text to your memory-keeping spreads. Handwriting is the easiest way to write down your thoughts about your documented memory. But what if you don't particularly like your handwriting? Or, maybe, you enjoy the look of type font or getting to choose different fonts based on the style of your design. Our Creative Team is here to share a few quick hacks for adding typed and printed journaling to your layout, so keep reading to learn how!
Aimee loves the look, and ease, of adding typed journaling to her pocket page spreads.
"So you’ve got your pocket page or memory-keeping spread laid out and all that’s left is you add your journaling.
Now— I do love handwritten journaling however my favorite way to add journaling to my pocket cards is with my typewriter. This is pretty easy to do if you own a typewriter! I picked up a WeRMemory Keepers brand typewriter a few years back but you can also find lovely vintage typewriters at consignment stores, yard sales, or even online buy/sell/trade groups. To type on my journaling cards I simply adhere them to a larger piece of paper using washi tape.
Today I used the beautiful washi tape included in the Winter Twilight Travelers Notebook Memory Keeping Kit. After the cards are adhered down I simply feed them through and get to typing.
You can even do this method with small items like labels— which are plentiful in the Winter Twilight Collection die-cut packs! After you’re done typing you’ll need to gently remove the washi tape. If you’re worried about the washi ripping the paper or if you have exceedingly sicky washi tape I like to remove some of the “stick” by touching it to the skin on my arm a couple of times.
Voila! Now you have beautifully typed journaling and it takes no fiddling with technology. Easy, simple, and slightly imperfect — which I believe adds to the charm! Happy creating!"
If you are going to print your journaling, why not try printing on patterned paper, like Jennie has done here!
"I try to add journaling to every memory-keeping layout, no matter if it's a traveler's notebook layout, pocket page spread, or traditional layout.
I often handwrite my journaling, as I do think it's important. However, every now and again I add computer-generated journaling.
I often print the journaling and cut the lines apart, as you can see in this layout. However, this week I added a new twist and printed it directly onto the patterned paper included in the Confetti WishesModern Memory Keeping Kit! I love how it turned out and will try this again in the future."
