The Red and Blue Color Palette

The Red and Blue Color Palette
Hello Cocoa Daisy Fans, We are exploring the red and blue color palette with the Tulip Time kits and the corresponding printables. Both of today's designs incorporate items from the subscriber and the free planner printables which are available on the Cocoa Daisy web site. We'll begin with a memory planner layout from DT member Rachel. "What do you do when you and your monthly kit cannot be together? You pull from the beautiful printables, of course! Today I am sharing a fun blue and red memory keeping spread using the Tulip Time printables and a few items from previous kits!" "A few weeks ago, my husband and I made the decision to leave Miami for awhile and “shelter in place” in Iowa. While I am very happy to be where I am right now, I am a little sad that my May Tulip Time Kit cannot join me! Luckily, Cocoa Daisy free and subscriber pintables came to my rescue!" "To make this spread, I started by printing my photos using my Canon Selphy printer and punching the photos to fit using my Happy Planner Classic Size Punch. Next, I laid down the photo where I wanted them. Since I am a little behind on memory keeping, I like to write in pencil the description of the photo I want to use in the box where I want to place it. This helps streamline my printing and photo placement process." "Once the photos are down, I start decorating! I pulled one of the pocket cards from the Up and Away kit, trimmed it down the middle, and placed it above and below the Friday and Saturday boxes. This card summed up most of the photos from the whole week perfectly!" "Since I was focusing on the “blue and red” theme, I went through my fussy cut printables, and searched for blue and red elements. A little yellow and green made it onto the pages, but I think that is ok! The Subscriber printable sheet really came in handy for the labels and arrows. I also used the 3x4 quote card, trimmed out the words and added the quote horizontally over Tuesday and Wednesday." "I hope you enjoyed this Blue and Red memory keeping layout with our printables. Do you use the Cocoa Daisy printables? If not, you should give them a try!" Rachel has such clever ideas for embellishing her memory planner layouts and her fussy cutting skills are fabulous. We love this simple documentation of life, all done with a pen, a bit of glue, a pair of scissors and our Cocoa Daisy printables. She has a process video that you can view here. Next I am sharing a TN layout in my 52 Favorites project. For this week in my project I wanted to highlight my husband on our wedding anniversary. I saw this quote handwritten by Kerri Bradford and I decided to print it and stitch around the letters to highlight the quote. I added my journaling to the page and a stapled a black foam heart from the kit. On the opposite page I chose a paper from the memory keeping kits as my background. Next I looked through the free planner printable for Tulip Time and printed the pages with elements I wanted to incorporate in my layout. I also opened the subscriber printable png file in Microsoft word and added a text box with the text I wanted to some of the labels. Then I printed and fussy cute what I needed for this layout from each of the printed pages. I framed my husband's photo with another piece of our exclusive paper and then used the printables I fussy cut to layer behind and in front of the photo. I stapled two more black foam hearts and that's it. This layout came together quickly and I love the impact of the blue and red with the white journaling page as well as the added texture created with the hand stitching and layered printed ephemera. We'd love to see what you are making with our kits and encourage you to share your memory keeping and planner layouts with us on the Cocoa Daisy Fans facebook page or by tagging @cocoa_daisy on social media. Happy crafting! ~Robin
