Tai Cortes: Team PSL with October Glow Collection

Hello crafty friends! It’s Tai, and I have a double-page layout in my October Glow Simple Daisy Notebook featuring elements for the October Glow Scrapbooking kit and the October Glow Journaling kit. The October Glow Simple Daisy Notebook is a great insert featuring similar prints also found in the pocket cards. I enjoy having the option to work in my pocket pages or my notebook insert for a similar look. For this project, the first step was selecting my photo. In this case, I downloaded one of the seasonal Pumpkin Spice Lattes from Starbucks. I printed it at a 3x4 size and then auditioned it on each patterned paper in the notebook. I landed on this orange plaid-patterned paper in the October Glow Simple Daisy Notebook, and my project grew from there.

The October Glow Scrapbooking kit included a bold, deep orange colored alpha, and my title came to me easily. I am always on team PSL. Anything made with pumpkin spice flavor during the fall and winter time, I shall eat and enjoy. People either love pumpkin or they do not. I am a pumpkin girl through and through.

I anchored my photo with a 2-inch-wide stripe of patterned paper and layered it behind my photo. Layered a chipboard element on it and a few enamel dots. On the opposite side, I did a little bit of stamping, added a chipboard piece to the top corner, and then used rub-ons from the journaling to shape my title area over my journaling. It all fit perfectly in the end. My journaling is done on clear matte sticker paper, and it finishes off my spread. My last detail was gold splatter with my Tim Holtz Spritz in Fossilized Amber. So let me know, are you team pumpkin or not?
