Teach Me Tuesday with the Doodles and Dashes Collection
Hello, friends! Do you want to make a beautiful 12x12 layout or a card with the Doodles & Dashes Collection? Keep reading this "Teach Me Tuesday" post to learn more! Jil shows us how to pull specific colors from the collection to compliment our photos. "I'm in love with the muted gray-blues and ochres in the Doodles & Dashes Collection! My boyfriend is fostering an orange tabby kitten, and this little beauty met my dog, Hazel, recently. Besides wanting to tell the story of their developing relationship, I wanted to showcase the gorgeous ginger color of both creatures with lots of the Doodles and Dashes Memory Keeping Papers and washi tape from the kit, along with watercolor in the Doodles & Dashes color scheme. Watch my video to see me explain how I designed the page with watercolor along the edges of the cardstock, photos of different sizes, organically cut strips of paper, lots of handwritten journaling at the bottom of the layout, a mixed alphabet title, and stamping, die-cuts, and stickers for playful embellishments." https://youtu.be/XCm1a6VD-tA If you love cardmaking, then you will definitely want to see how Tiffany created this stunning card.
"I was drawn to the sentiment and pretty font on this journal card from the Doodles and Dashes Pocket Card Kit. I thought it would be perfect as a focal point on a greeting card.
I created this for a friend to let her know I’m thinking about her.
To create the card, I used the multi-colored, floral paper from the Doodles and Dashes Traveler's Notebook kit as the card base. I trimmed the journal card down to 3” x 3” in size. Next, I made the heart & flag embellishments from mustard-colored cardstock from my stash, and papers from the Doodles and Dashes Planner Kit. I used craft punches for the hearts and made the flags by hand.
I used foam tape to pop up the sentiment and give it dimension. To see more, please join me on YouTube! I demonstrate how to make this quick card & show you what I put inside it."
