Spook-tacular Halloween setup 2020
Boo Daisy friends! I really wanted to dive in to the brand new add-on kit that Coco Daisy came out with for Halloween. This is very exciting! I stepped out of my comfort zone in...

Before gluing anything down, I created a simple mixed media background using a Sanna Lippert stencil from Stamplorations. This stencil features small leaves (perfect for fall). I used Distress Inks in Fossilized Amber and Spiced Marmalade and a blending tool to rub the colours through the stencil onto a white background. I focused on a space bigger than the Polaroid frames and extended that even further in a couple of spots (top and bottom) so it didn’t look too uniform. It’s meant to be messy right! I then did a packaging / smoosh technique with some Vintage Photo and finished it off with some small platters of each.
From there I fussy cut the gold framed labels from Pretty Little Studio, used a die cut to create the ‘love’ title in that fantastic vellum and then had fun playing with the Simple Stories puffy stickers included in the kit (the little heart eyes raccoon is my favorite!) and the Pretty Little Studio Phrase Stickers. The paper behind my photos is the packaging from one of the Pretty Little Studio bits in the kit.
I will journal in the dark brown pen from the TN Memory Keeping Kit which will add a bit more pop to the layout. I journal as I put pages in albums - I wait till I have a decent stack, grab a hot cup of coffee, my favorite pens, some nice tunes and spend an afternoon writing down all the feels and facts." I know I keep saying this but Brande's layouts are adorable and this is no exception. We love the creative ways she is using items from the Flannel and Frost classified memory keeping kit, especially the little puffy stickers and the gold tags. And Brande got a lot of mileage from single piece of vellum paper included in the kit!
Now let's see what Jil has for us today. "I love the surprise and pleasure of opening up the classified kit each month! Inside the brown paper bag there are invariably wonderful little treats that go beautifully with the main kit. On my TN page, I am primarily using the Acorn Lane classified kit, but I draw in the last of my puffy stickers from last month's classified kit, including the thankful banner, which I include on a tag that extends off the right side.
I loved the blue gingham paper and the gray woodgrain, and so I chose to mat my photos with those papers, which I also include in snippets along the edges. On those edges and beneath my photos I create embellishment clusters with the beautiful wood veneer from the classified kit--the leaves and the sleeping fox. I used the labels from the kit as a home for stamping the fallen leaves stamp in the main kit and as a base for the tiny embellishments. The kit also includes gold foil stickers, so I chose a leaf for each cluster and a heart to place by my title.
My title combines the phrase stickers and the alphas from this kit to form a phrase--"THIS fall"--that emphasizes "this," as I do in my journaling when I write about what has made this particular fall unusual and how nature has been a source of comfort. I finish off my page with ink splatters, glitter dots, sequins and small stickers from my stash. Even though the memory-keeping edition of the classified kit is a lovely complement to the main kits each month, it was fun to make it the star of the show on this TN layout!" We love all the detailed clusters Jil created in her design. The little bits of paper and washi tape are a great way to incorporate your scraps. And Jil's layout is a great example of how well our different kits work together.
We'd love to see what you are doing with our Classified Memory Keeping kits! Please share in our private facebook group or by tagging @cocoa_daisy on social media.
Happy Crafting!
