Spook-tacular Halloween setup 2020

Spook-tacular Halloween setup 2020

Boo Daisy friends! I really wanted to dive in to the brand new add-on kit that Coco Daisy came out with for Halloween. This is very exciting! I stepped out of my comfort zone in my creativity for this set up. For years I have waited for this particular kit. And I was super excited when they finally did pre-sales.

I knew right away my setup was going to be all about the dashboards. In true Coco Daisy fashion, the papers are whimsical, cute and fun for Halloween. To be frank, I love Halloween for the dark and mysterious vibe! However, when I saw the papers that came in this add-on kit, I knew exactly what I wanted to do.

First, I used an Xacto knife to carve claw marks in some if the paper. I wanted it to feel creepy and mysterious. So on top of making claw marks into the paper, I also added some glitter dots for beady eyes staring back at you.

The mummy figure was a true labor of love. I kept putting paper down and it wasn’t feeling right. It wasn’t until I “accidentally“ got black stamping ink on the paper that I realized what was missing. So I embraced the mistake, and added more ink using my fingers to accent the mummy-wrap. And I love the way it turned out! Again, using some of the glitter dots and whimsical glitter edgers, I made the mummy eyes.

I used more scrap paper from the kit and cut out small little pieces to form a very eerie looking tree. Again, I used some black stamping ink for color. And of course, what Halloween theme would be complete without tombstones with rest in peace (R.I.P.)!

To give this setup the extra creep factor, I made a dark ominous figure. I used black stamping ink and glitter dots. I can’t stand to look at it too long because I get chills up and down my spine! What do you see when you look at it?

I sure hope you all have enjoyed the set up as much as I have. In case you wanted to see it live in an action, I have a video on YouTube which you can watch here.

Until next time, happy creating! Don’t get too spooked!
