Superb Ways to Add Impact to Your Memory Keeping Pages with Purple and Blue
By Cocoa Daisy
Hello Daises,
Our design team has stepped up to the challenge of incorporating purple or blue or both in their designs. We are blown away by their ideas and use of these colors. Purple and blue are deep rich colors that pack a punch. They are on the cool side of the color wheel and they are analogous which means they sit next to each other. The use of analogous colors is pleasing to the eye and will bring harmony to your layout.
Now let's begin with Sabrina's beautiful TN layout. "For this project I found the focus of purple and blue to be a real challenge but I had fun making a project with the focus of these 2 colors. The reason it was a good challenge was because as I looked through Backyard Blooms I didn’t see a lot of purple. I was determined to make purple work as my focus in my layout."
"I got the idea to create my own custom patterned paper and a few custom embellishments with purple ink. I used the 2 stamps sets designed by Kellie Winnell and made my purple patterned paper. I used the same color purple ink to add cohesiveness to the overall pattern."
"To finish up my project I created 3 main visual points. I included die cuts and foam stickers to embellish these clusters. I also fussy cut 2 purple stamped phrases and added in some purple foam stickers. Love this challenge to use purple and blue!"
Next we have a lovely list layout from Melina. "Each month I try to create a spread in my Simple Dori that is a type of “to do” list of sorts. Not an everyday list of things to do but a “remember a few awesome things this month” list. I call them my “Monthly Creative” or “Happy” lists. This helps me so much on days when things are hard or on those blah days. This list is one of my favorites ever! The reminders in it make me so happy."
"I used lots of kit embellishments to complete this spread. A 3x4 card, a couple of tabs, washi tape, paper, alpha stickers, a tiny puffy sticker up by the bird tab, phrase stickers, an acrylic piece and die cuts. I love using items from multiple kits on one project."
"Creative lists are a great way to step out of the everyday and try something new. Both with creating it and living it! Add some things to your creative list you know you might need to work on and some adventurous stuff too! You’ll be amazed at how you can accomplish things after you’ve written it down and determined to complete it.
And our final design is a 12x12 layout from Brande. "I started this layout with the intention of going very minimalistic - a little purple watercolour in the background and on the Freckled Fawn ‘Hello Sunshine’ Wood veneer from the August Classified Kit, and then just a few embellishments in blue from the other Kit goodies."
"Well ... I kept finding more and more in the kits that fit the purple and blue colour scheme I was aiming for and I loved em all so they had to join in on the fun!"
"I was still able to achieve quite a bit of whitespace by packing all the goodies in just one very fun and full cluster on the bottom of the page - so not a total left turn from my original design idea!"
We encourage you scrap lift our design team's ideas and make them your own.
