Last month in "Sticker Parade! Part 1", I shared how I used the Cocoa Daisy Sticker Subscription in three different planners (personal size, A5 & disc-bound). Today, I'd like to show you how I used the kit on a few pocket pages. First, take a look at this month's Solstice Sticker Kit in all her beauty:
I recently saw the 1967 Monterey Pop music festival on television. It was a perfect snapshot of the 60's with great Rock N' Roll! I was transported to the Sixties without ever leaving my bedroom. I'm so glad I recorded it. I've watched it twice! I created two personal size pocket pages to memorialize the experience. I photographed my two favorite performers at the concert: Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin.
My mouth was open the entire time Jimi Hendrix was on stage. He actually lit his guitar on fire at the end of his performance (see photo below). Absolutely wild, right? I knew I had the perfect pocket card for that! And, Janis Joplin's singing (belting?) was so full of emotion, she transported me off the Earth! I had the right journal card for that, too! Here is the front of both pocket pages:
"I keep hitting the spacebar, but I'm still on Earth." That pocket card (above) describes how I've been feeling while stuck at home during the COVID-19 pandemic. After watching Joplin's performance, I think I need to belt out a few of her songs in the morning. That will get me psyched to tackle the day! LOL. The journal cards, gold vellum and enamel stars used above can be found in the Solstice Memory Keeping: Pocket Kit.
I did some journaling on the back of the 3" x 4" and 4" x 6" pocket cards. I also used the sticker kit labels to draw attention to both artist's names. I embellished both 3" x 4" cards with enamel stars. On the 4" x 6" card, I used washi strips and a "weekend" sticker banner.  Even though these are personal size pocket pages, they will fit into my A5 planner. I will also punch holes in the larger card and add it to my planner. I like having different sized cards  in my planner. I use it for memory keeping as well as planning.
I'm inspired by the gorgeous Protea flower artwork in the Solstice kits. For my last pocket page, I chose a card with Protea illustrations. Then I added a quote about nature by Emily Dickinson. I used two different stickers from the Solstice Sticker Kit to make her name stand out.
Shown below, on the back of the pocket page, I couldn't resist adding the same Protea photograph. I think they're my new favorite flower!
